| Heights and Lengths There is so much talk about how much a yorkie will weigh, but what about height and length. My little Wolfie is 8 inches tall and 10 inches long, and he is kind of muscular - a cute little body on him. He is 5 months old and weights almost 6 lbs. I am wondering when your Yorkies stopped growing in height because someone told me that males stop growing sooner and that he may only keep growing another month or so. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Marcel is awake, he is my smallest feller. He is about 8" long and 7.5" tall. I'm not including his head in that measurement, I'm just measuring the back length. Marcel is basically a box. We actually call him "Box / Boxxy" as a nickname . Pfeiffer is awake now too. She is about 9" long and 8" tall.

| Draco is approx 10in in length and about 9in in height. He's one, and I think he's been this height since about 8 months or so, or at least that might be the youngest I measured him. I was looking into bags, but was more concerned with him getting longer or taller than weighing a bit to carry around. He's about 7.5. But he feels, idk what call it fragile/dainty haha. But I'm guessing it's just his body type and he won't get to be the stocky type of yorkie.

| Thanks Thanks everyone - Wolfie was only 2 lbs and a few ounces when I got him. He is very sturdy now at almost 6 pounds, so I love that he is not so delicate anymore. I wish I knew when he would stop growing in height because I am looking for a bag, he outgrew the one I use now. I don't want to get one and have to get a bigger one later. He will be 6 months old in 10 days. Are we nearing the end of his growth or did anyone have a male that continued for a few more months? |

| My boys are 5 & 6 years old & I can't remember when they stopped growing in height. Momo is 7.5" tall, 8" long. Turbo is 8" tall, 8" long. I think they grow up & then fill in.

| I think I heard that too. They stop growing in height maybe around 6-8 months then fill out. I think it's odd to measure a dog by weight because so much is determined by diet and exercise. It really should be about how tall they are and how long they are, kind of how we are measured. Right? |

| Actually, I think their chest measurement says a lot. Momo is 11.5" Chest, he's about 4.5-4.75#'s. Princess has 12" chest, 5 #'s, Turbo has 12.5" chest, almost 6#'s & Mimi has 13" chest, she's 7#'s. In our case, half an inch adds a pound.

| Hi Mimimomo - I did hear that after they stop growing in height and length their chests begin to expand and yes that does seem to put pounds on and affect their overall size as far as clothes and bags go. I haven't measured Wolfie's chest yet. I should do that today just to see. He is still pretty narrow, but I was noticing he is putting on a lot of muscle in his hind legs because I take him running and hiking with me. |

| I went to our Ge sign up to find Lilah's recently taken measurements. Weight, Height, Length, Neck Size, and Chest Size - Weight: 4lb 6oz, Height (floor to shoulder) 10 inches, Length (neck to tail) 11 inches, neck size 7 inches, chest size (hope i measured this one right) 10 inches I think she will fill out more and gain weight, she is only almost a year and a half old and I think she is too skinny. She is very active and a picky eater (dr says she is okay but yes on the skinny side). I am sure she reached her height by a year old though.

| My boys are full brothers and had growth spurts as late as 11 months that resulted in them being taller and longer. They are both 11.5 inches long and tall. Big boys.
