YorkieTalk Newbie! | ![]() My husband just bought me a Purebred Yorkie for Christmas. I've seen both parents and know she is purebred. There are no papers and the tails have NOT been docked. Which is fine with me. I love their tails. I paid $450.00 for her and will take custody on Dec. 23, 2016. I am so excited. I'm like a 59 yr. old kid, anticipating the arrival of Santa Clause. |

| ![]() My friend has a paperless yorkie and she paid $600 but she got him from out of state and the total ended up being around $900 with "shipping". The woman she got him from claims to be a private breeder who just sells her dogs cheaper because they don't have papers. I don't think she's the most honest breeder. She sold my friend a "teacup" that's six months old now and already 5 pounds but that's none of my business anyway...I don't know anything about the breeder myself, just what my friend told me but just wanted to let you know what she paid. I know she also was selling what she called toys instead of teacups and those were going for 400. Last edited by Bamboo15; 12-21-2016 at 07:33 AM. |

| ![]() in my area you would have to charge around 850 to find them a safe and permanent home ... even the shelter would charge 500-700 for small, pure bred puppies because they will be otherwise sold for profit ... I know it is awful to charge this much ... when regular breeders in the area charge $2000 and up for their dogs - $400 puppies are considered a bargain ...and many people will calculate the profits ... You could offer prospective owners that they could put 200 or more into a vet care account at a veterinarian of their choice tied to the puppy instead of paying you the full amount ... it will keep the bargain hunters away ... and those evil people looking for new " breeding machines" for their mills ... otherwise spay and neuter those babies before they go ... I think the " they are mill puppies and therefore bad quality " shouldn't deter you ... have the vet certify their health - I have seen many " registered quality" yorkies with health issues and I happen to own a little mill puppy who is not only in great health but also has great joints and a wonderful conformation despite not being registered and coming from a rather awful place ... In fact my vet keeps telling me about all the health issues of the micro teacup puppies that a local lady sells for 2500 and more. My 4lb regular sized mill puppy ( adult size is estimated to be around 5-6lb might not have papers but she is very healthy compared to those pricy minuscules! |
