I still don't understand having my fur baby put down due to declining health and not at least being there for that baby. I know the vet is the monster... but the pet parents are not too high on my list either. |
I am so glad to see his vet license is suspended, and I hope it gets permanently revoked. This is a betrayal of trust so deep that it leaves one speechless! In terms of the owners, I could never allow my pet to be pts without my presence. Not that I had or ever had any worry about nefarious goings on, but it is the last act of a loving owner. How-ever I do know that some folks do have an aversion so deep that it might physically be impossible for them to be present. I would hate to be one of the clients of this clinic that had one of my dogs PTS there, even if I had stayed, how do I know that I wasn't hoodwinked into believing my dog had "passed" when what ever drug was given? I know with my Zoey I knew when her last breath was, but with Karma no. Let us put blame where it lies, with all the employees of this clinic who at least some of them knew what was going on and did nothing, on the owner and vet of this clinic, on the failure of the regulatory body to have a confidential whistle blower line. You are all complicit if you saw, if you knew what was going on and did NOTHING to stop it. I hope that this man pays - a serious payment - jailtime - suits that bankrupt him - and a suit against the Veterinary Association if at all possible. |
It all depends on the local laws, many jurisdictions call pets property and will only value a suit for replacement value. IMO the owners should hang their heads in shame for allowing this to happen, if my dog had to be at Vet for a few days I would be going to see her everyday. If it went longer I would be getting another Vet opinion or two. But again their other dog raised a fuss going to that Vet, listen to your dogs, they know! Any of the dogs I have had have been 100% correct in their evaluations of people I met, if they liked them they were good peeps, if not they later showed to be dirt bags. Dogs can feel things we are too dense to recognize, pay attention. |
OMD!!! I read the report from the veterinary board!!! Breaking news in the Sid case! The Texas Veterinary Board released their findings on the order of temporary suspension for Dr. Tierce, and their report on the conditions at the clinic are horrendous. Here is the link to the news article: Documents: Fort Worth vet kept five animals he said were euthanized | wfaa.com Dallas - Fort Worth Here is the link to the Texas State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiner's order of temporary suspension for Dr. Lou Tierce of the Camp Bowie Animal Clinic in Fort Worth: Dr. Tierce Order of Temporary Suspension Some quotes: "On April 29, 2014, Board investigators initiated a routine inspection of the Clinic. During the course of their inspection, the Board investigators witnessed and took video recordings of unsanitary conditions of the Clinic. Animal organs were kept in jars throughout the clinic. Bugs were visible in exam rooms. Stacks of drugs, trash, laundry, paperwork, and other miscellaneous material were strewn about the examination rooms, hallways, stairwells, operating room, laboratories, and offices of the Clinic. Open and unsecured medications, including some controlled substances, were also strewn about the clinic and in such a fashion that controlled substances could easily be stolen and abused by employees, clients, or visitors of the Clinic. Board investigators also received a signed and handwritten statement from Respondent that he had accepted five animals for euthanasia at his Clinic and proceeded to not euthanize the animals. Respondent acknowledged that it was a violation to accept Sid for euthanasia and not perform the euthanasia. Respondent told one of the Board investigators that it was his decision, and not the decision of the animal owner, whether or not an animal should be euthanized. Respondent also acknowledged that parts of his clinic were unsanitary." There is more to this report. Those are just the highlights. |
I'm speechless for a change. |
I know it all just so horrible. I had an idea it was a filthy place after watching the news when it showed the back of the building with trash, and dirty towels just like they had been thrown out the door. Also when they showed one of the windows you could see junk just piled up. AND yet clients are just giving him so much praise on what a GOOD, GREAT VET AND MAN he is. Talk about keeping your head in the sand. I had thought about driving over there and giving them a piece of my mind, BUT I don't want to end up on the 5 pm new's. LOL He is in the ofice today, doing paper work and selling med's (HW Preventive, and such) and advising clients where to take thier pet's now. I know I would not trust anyone he would be referring. |

The charges filed were based on how Dr. Tierce treated his own dog, not Sid. Here's another update on Dr. Lou Tierce of the Camp Bowie Animal Clinic in Fort Worth, TX. It turns out that the arrest warrant issued for him was based on the conditions in which they found Dr. Tierce's own pet dog, and not on Sid's case. Here is a link to the story, which has a link to the arrest warrant: Fort Worth Veterinarian's 'Decrepit' Dog Among Those in Need of Euthanasia: State Officials | NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth Here is a direct link to the arrest warrant: http://media.nbcbayarea.com/document...IEN+TIERCE.pdf |
Some of his customers laud him when he admits there was a poor injured, ill, starving dog lying in his clinic in that awful state for a year, which has now been examined and its horrific condition attested to by another vet??? And he further admits he allowed his own dog to suffer like that - with a severe neurological disease, cataracts, mouth disease, emaciation, part of a foot missing and no quality of life at all?!?!?! And he kept five poor dogs that should have been put to sleep to prevent their suffering alive just to bleed them, not even caring how they suffered or lived their lives? And he has customers and staff that keep going back there - even today and knowing all of this and vouchsafe for him??? This man is a sadist and should not even be allowed around any pet again ever. And as I said on TxVicki's initial thread about Sid and gemy said today, the staff that worked there and saw all of this and kept quiet - also sadists-by-proxy - just as guilty for hiding his secret chamber of horrors from the world and obviously still working there as his doors are open for business!!! How in the world they could work around sick/injured animals being held secretly captive, abused and so mistreated and how they interact with that animal-abuser on a daily basis speaks volumes about the types of people they are - and it's shameful and utterly vile. None of them should be allowed around helpless animals unless they can demonstrate they have grown at least the beginning of a conscience. That vet and his staff are truly the lowest types of humans there are - persons who neglect suffering, repetitively hurt and mistreat the innocent and helpless in their care. I don't know how any of them ever sleeps a wink at night. What kind of people are these? |
Just saw one of Tierce's customers on Ch. 5 news and he said the doctor didn't need this kind of "harassment". What does he think - that the whistleblower, police criminal investigators, Texas Board of Medical Examiners investigator, Animal Control officers, the vet tech still working there that gave a statement, the vet that was called in to examine Tierce's own injured, ill, neglected border collie and the owners of Sid and his new vets are all conspiring to lie about all of this????? Unbelievable how he's got anyone left who will even come around where he is, let alone go on camera and complain of how he's being treated! |
