My heart goes out to you. Thank you for sharing. It's opened my eyes even more to just how very very very much I need to protect my Darla. When she goes to the vet this Tuesday I am totally bringing my own sanitizing spray and napkins to sanitize the room they put me in. I'm also gonna bring her HK blanket and have her stay only on that. I will keep you in my prayers. 9 months of love and then it's take from you so quickly. I don't think I'd ever get over that either. With these kinds of things you just have to learn to get through it and not get over it. I'm so very sorry for your loss. If there's any help you need maybe finding a new puppy if that's what you want when you're ready, just know we're all here for you and we'll help you in any way we can.

Yes I have Valentina but I hadn't let her play with my other dogs yet because they rough play and might hurt her. She also dosent go outside eaither. She already had her first set of shots administered by me. She is not exsibiting any sighn of parvo. She has been weened for a little over a week now I have her in my bedroom in a play yard.

Well if she dirint administer the shots correctly I'm so mad right now I trusted her and had ppl refer me to her. She charged me 2500 for sushi plus I just spent 1100 trying to save my poor baby from dying the only good in all this is she's in a better place now.

Thank you all! It great to have a yorkie family that can share your good times and bad. I will be crying some more today as to everything reminds me of her. She was a special dog that I will never forget. I could tell my other dogs are looking for her around and can't find her 😔 she's in a better place now and not suffering like she was. My sweet girl sushi.

The shot records have the stickers plus she came with a Florida health certificate the vet looked over everything. Although that was the breeders vet not mines.

Yes mines too be vary careful with your girl it's too hard to loose a part of your family that was in perfect health and had a full life ahead of them thanks

I'm so sorry this happened, I hope you find out what happened. You lost her way too soon RIP baby girl.

I just wanted to say there are multiple reasons why this could happen. Did the breeder do as she said? Was the vaccine properly stored? Did she administer the last vaccine at 12 weeks? If it was at 12 weeks rather than the preferred 16-18 weeks there is a possibility the pup had remaining MDA and it prevented antibodies from forming leaving the pup vulnerable to contract parvo.

There are many cases where pups are contracting parvo even though they where vaccinated. A pup can be vaccinated but not produce immunity. One reason is they are considered "non/ low responders" to the vaccine. If you vaccinate, then two weeks later, do a titer test to see if any antibodies were produced that would be the result you want to see. But, if you run a titer(two weeks after vaccinating) and it is showing no antibodies you may have a non-responder. This pup will always remain at risk for contracting parvo without having any protection.

Dr. Schultz claims there’s a certain ratio in the canine population that will not respond to vaccinations. This is dictated by their genetics and how long that a disease has been present in the population. So you have more parvovirus non-responders in dogs (1:1000) compared to distemper (1:5000).

If we want the some assurance the vaccine produced antibodies is to have a titer run two weeks after the second vaccine, if the vaccine produced the antibodies they way it should have the pup should have adequate protection. Again, I'm so sorry this happened.

First I want to say I'm very sorry for the loss of your baby. That's way too young.

Parvo is a horrible,horrible disease. Working in a vet clinic, I've seen way to many puppies die of this.
As for your other baby, I'm sure you already know this, but she won't be fully protected until she's had her full series of vaccines. You need to clean everything in your house where she could come in contact with Parvo with bleach or some other disinfectant labeled for Parvo. Also treat the ground outside if your puppy was out there. I know you said you gave the vaccine yourself, but you need to be very careful about where you buy them. It's not always about giving the vaccine wrong. If they haven't been stored properly at the correct temperature prior to you buying them, they're worthless. Good luck to you and again I'm really sorry.
