| Poor guy... I have neck issues and can tell that if somebody I do not know comes running up on me and in my face I bite too so I can't say I blame the little guy. Hope he is feeling better and that it's not a disc issue.

| If your "aggressive adult yorkie" had any symptoms other than the snapping at other dogs for that 2 1/2 years, you might ask that vet that missed his medical condition for so long if he has good malpractice insurance & consider collecting on it. .

| Yes we have a new VET. Before they just asked me if he had an accident because he was tense and I answer no and he got a painkiller and that was all. He had all the time the problem with bringing up the bile, usually early in the morning. He had blood test, abdominal scan and everything was fine. So he was on the diet food all his life, no treats at all etc, and 3-4 meals per day. 1 month ago we repeated the blood test and he had high bile acid (48) and they say might be related to stress. All other things were normal. Do you know anything about this ? xxx |

Usually when dogs vomit bile, have tummy troubles of long-standing and a high bile acids test, most small animal vets don't automatically think stress - in Yorkies they tend to think liver shunt or MVD(microvascular dysplasia) and suggest nuclear scintigraphy and abdominal sonogram to rule out liver shunt or MVD. I believe I might take him to yet another vet who doesn't think a high bile acids test automatically means he's stressed. I would take him to an internist and while they are diagnosing his vomiting, high bile acids, ask them to see if he has back problems that need a neurologist.

| Yes he has disc problem on his spine but he didn't have a MRI because he is feeling good and they do it only if they think he needs a surgery. Few years ago he had all the tests( blood, scan) and he was fine. No liver shunt , no pancreas disease, no kidney disease. They told me if he should have something serious the test would be bad. We did blood tests again because before the last episode of back pain he was vomiting (bile). Last year when he was in pain, he was vominting before. That's why they said can be related to stress. 2 VETS told me that. Now he is on strict rest because of the disc problem.we hope his back will heal and be back to normal. |
