				   | Hi and Welcome to YT! Why is she getting spayed so early? Best to wait for the growth plates to close, as determined by a vet and an X-ray.

				   | They can survive early spaying, but it's not optimal for a growing puppy. Pups need their hormones till they're done growing. Stopping the hormones too early by spaying can cause problems later in life, and can cause unnatural growth patterns. I'd ask the vet about those things.

				   | Welcome to YT...you have nothing to freak out about. Your puppy will sense your fear, anxiety and you will freak her out. Be calm for the sake of your lil girl. This is the healthiest best thing you can do for her, and I am sure a very painful decision on your part. You will get more advise from others shortly. Please stay calm.

				   | I would say waiting till she is a bit older is a better option. I agree with kat that 19 weeks is to early.

				   | Hi, I had Bella spayed at 7 months, too, for the reasons mentioned above (waiting for her to finish her bone development). 19 weeks might be a little too early... |

				   | I always got my females spayed at 5 1/2 mos to make sure they never came in heat..my vet who was my boss told me if they were spayed before heat cycle they were 99.99 free of cancer any infection. I saw a good many female with infected uterus that can kill them. If you trust your vet, do what he says |

				   | 19 weeks is a bit early. I waited until my female was 8 months old because she was so tiny. I would wait a bit...

				   | I would wait a little longer just a month or two.
