| Hello from Northern VA! Hi Everyone! I'm Lindsey and I'm new here from Northern VA. I have a 1 year and 5 month old blond yorkie named Frosty who's the love of my life. I got him from a wonderful breeder in Marion Oaks, Fl when he was 8 months old. I've always had big dogs, and this is my first little dog. He's captured my heart, and is so much fun! He's intelligent, cuddly, and loyal. Couldn't ask for a better little guy! I was searching the internet for grooming tips and ran across this forum. My boy currently has a long coat, but I'm thinking about getting it cut, due to the amount of matts he gets. The dog groomer said his coat would not grow back the same color if I clip his hair. Ahhhh, decisions decisions. Anyways, nice to meet everyone! I look forward to learning about Yorkies |

| Frosty's just gorgeous! How big/small is he? As for the coat color... I don't know if it's just me but I feel like their coat constantly changes colors ever so slightly. Keeping their hair short does make brushing/grooming easier and faster. That's why my two always has short hair. lol Not so professional looking when I do the cutting/clipping but at least they won't be stuck in the crate while waiting for their turn. |

Hi Magnus- He currently weighs in at 4.5 lbs. He thinks he's 75 lbs though I'm tempted to get him clipped for the summer. I just love the traditonal look so much. He's a leaf collector though- he'll play in my yard and drag in all the sticks and leaves with his own coat | |

| Hi Lindsey and welcome to YT!! Your boy is absolutely stunning!!! We keep our 2 boys fairly short after various tries at growing them out. We do a lot outside, so it wasn't making sense for them to be long - I was combing and brushing constantly. I don't know about the coat being a different color if it were clipped...seems possible, but others with more knowledge will comment, I'm sure. I have one that stayed the same color and the other's hindquarters are much more grey now after a short cut. Btw, I have an old high school friend that lives in your area ( a CA transplant!) and there are a couple (at least) of Yorkie Talk members not too far from you! Enjoy the forum, I've learned so much here. -Sherry (and P-Nut & Pickles) |

| welcome to YT, beautiful Frosty, perfect name. Sorry cannot help you out of the color changing if shaved, as Magnus said I also see slight color changes in my pup / pups.

| Hi Lindsey! Welcome to Yorkie Talk. I live about 70 miles south of you near Fredericksburg. Frosty is a beautiful boy! Love his photos. My Teddy has a lot of blond hair, although not as much as Frosty. Teddy's roots are dark on much of his saddle and legs, so if I clipped his full coat, he would probably look darker. I have not cut my boys' adult coats, so I don't know if they would grow back a different color.
