| Tri-heart plus? My vet gave Chloe tri-heart plus for heart worm prevention. Does anyone else here use this? I didn't give it to her yet but the pills look kind of large, how do you give this.. Can u crush it into smaller pieces and do your babies like to eat it?

| He also recommended vectra 3d for fleas. I didn't buy it because I'm not sure if it's good or not.. Thoughts?

YT 2000 Club Member | dog I would research and ask about this stuff before you give it. I don't give any meds without knowing what it is and the side effects. I have never heard of this stuff. Be very careful what you give your Yorkie, even if the vet recommends it. Check it out with a pharmacist or another vet. |

| We use heartgard. It's been around forever, we also use frontline plus for fleas and ticks.

| Yeah, I think since I didn't open anything I'm going to try and return this tomorrow.. I researched it and basically tri-heart is the generic version of heart guard. Only difference is it protects against 2 other kinds of worms. I'm so scared to give her all these things I also looked up vectra 3d and I don't really like it.

| What is your concern with the Vectra?

| l just haven't seen anyone else use it. I want something that is for dogs under 10lbs rather than giving her medication for dogs up to 25lbs.. and I read the box it says it is NOT fda approved.. so she is definitely not using this. I heard about sentinel, its for flea protection too... but it looks like it doesn't protect against the flea actually biting the dog. Interceptor looks good to use but I heard it discontinued?

| I just bought these 2 and returned the tri-heart. I feel it's the most used combination. I rather stay safe and give what everyone else is giving for prevention.

| I think this was a good move. I've used both of these products for a very long time - two of my dogs are almost 14! I've never had a flea or tick and feel like the products work for us here in New England.

| I went to get Heartguard today and my vet said they are changing to a new product as Heartguard is not working for parts of Arkansas.
