| Any breeders stuck bottle feeding a litter? My little girl got a uterine infection somehow after whelping... I have no idea how since I let the vet deliver this litter!! anyways, she is a sick girl and her milk isn't coming in very good yet. She is on cephalexin and gettin better, but it takes time! anyhow, I am looking for tips on feeding. Does anyone know about how much a 3 oz puppy should eat? And my littlest pup keeps getting constipated. Yes I have been stimulating them and so has Shelby but its not doing the trick. |

| The formula that was given to me years ago by one of my mentors, is made with Just Born, Peidalyte, raw egg yolk, Dr.Millers Pet Nurta Drops, and yogurt...it delivers 14-16 kal.per cc....you give 1cc/oz of body weight. I tube feed puppies...much safer for the puppy, and more exact for your calculations on what the puppy is actually getting, and it is much quicker for you, especially if you have several puppies to feed, every 2 hours around the clock for at least a week. Be sure puppies are kept warm while eating, and be sure formula is warmed....otherwise puppy will not digest/absorb feedings. |
