| You are fortunate that Charlie is past the puppy stage and probably knows his way around pretty well. If he is pee pad trained you should be ok although I'm sure Charlie is going to hate being alone all day. You know how well he does in your home. If he is used to free reign of the place then I would just let him continue to have that choice of where he wants to camp out. If he tends to get into trouble now and then you may want to limit him to one or two rooms that are puppy proofed. I hope you find the employment you are looking for soon and hopefully not too far away from Charlie. |

| Do you have a camera in the house? I left Chloe in a play pen usually with a camera watching her and all she did was sleep most of the time and get up to eat.. then go back to sleep. Since she was a really good girl I took away the pen recently and let her have the whole bedroom to play in when I'm gone and just put a gate so she only has the bedroom. When I watch her on camera, she still just sleeps and plays with her toys or eats and then sleeps some more lol. I definitely feel more comfortable leaving her home knowing I can see what she is doing, though. Your baby will probably sleep until you come home, I think when I'm gone it's Chloe's spa day because she gets freedom from me bothering her all day haha.. she finally gets to sleep a lot of hours!

I work too.. but I've been working from home for years. It just isn't a stable enough employment anymore. I have been laid off twice for stupid reasons and the job I am at now, work will just slow down with no notice then I am without work or barely getting any hours for weeks and even months at a time. I think out of the home is going to give a more stable work environment with the opportunity to move up in a company if I find the right one..... So I am searching out of the home now.

| I brought Mike to the office for the first week just to make sure we was in good health to be home alone without any worries since he was just 8 weeks old. After that week, he was potty pad trained and I would leave in in my room with the tv on and a few toys for him to play. He is been home alone from 7:30pm to 5:30pm without any kind of issue at all. I just make sure that when I get home I give him lots of atention, I take him out for a walk, then I feed him and play with him after he is done eating... He seems to like that routine. Now that I got Molly, well... seems like he needs me less than before LOL . Molly seems to be getting used to be home with Mike all by themself and she is doing excellent as well. I think they get used to it, and as a bonus.... they seem to feel extra happy when they hear the door key opening the door... I always find them staring at the door, eagerly waiting for my entrance :-p ... I don't allow them to bark, but they do moan quiet a bit... LOL. I think your baby will do ok. |

I don't think I would do all that... Set up a camera.. Unless I thought there was a reason too. He will be ok. I was just being a paranoid mommy. lol He sleeps all day while I work from home. I am sure it wont be too much different while I am gone

| Yeah, your fur baby is grown up so he will probably be a good boy. Mine is only 5 months so she's not in that stage where I trust her fully just yet.. She needs that camera lol.

| The neighbour thing is a great idea. Mine have keys and if I find I have to be late for one reason or another they take the dogs to their place, feed and walk them for me. |

| One thing that is good, is the way my place is set up, I can leave the back door open safely so he has free roam of the patio all day while I am gone. |

| Ok I've made up my mind.... I'm going to get a cat to keep Charlie company so he wont be alone once I start working out of the home. I decided last night. I can rescue one from the shelter. I've always had really good luck with my cat and dogs becoming best buds.My landlords are super cool people. I think I can talk them into it. Last edited by Christinee; 03-31-2014 at 10:45 AM. |
