| I wish every dog owner and potential dog owner would read this and take it to heart. So often at the animal shelter I see parents wanting to get of dogs because a baby is on the way, half the time they don't even give the dog a chance to see how it will be! The thing that breaks my heart the most though is the people giving up older dogs. Everyone loves a puppy but how many people would adopt a 10 or 12 year old? Sadly not many, they sit in the shelter wonder what they have done wrong and people pass them by and just say 'oh that one is too old' and they don't even look at them. I wonder how an owner could do that to their pet that gave them so many years of love and dedication.
