By now I guess you know all this.

I do believe that her weight has contributed to this condition, but not in the way you are thinking. It's because you bought from a breeder who is trying to manipulate the breed into producing pups the size of small rats. When that happens all sorts of health issues arise. While it is true some show breeders will have a runt or two in a litter here or there they are still not trying to breed for them. While I am by no means an expert on AAI it does seem that many of the yorkies that suffer from this have been bred on purpose to be extra small.

One of the gals in a yorkie group I belong to has an AAI group, I think it is on yahoo, if you are not aware of it I will get you the info on how to join if you are interested. Best wishes for a good recovery for your gal.

Absolutely agree with you both. Size matters when they breed to get tiny, undersized dogs as greeders care little for anything else wrong with either breeding dog or its parents if it throws tiny puppies.

Animal Smiley 036 Natalie Nelson

Hi yorkie lovers!! You have all been amazing and supportive openly and privately. Mila had her one month out of surgery check up on Friday. She is doing amazing!!! So far there is no anticipated complications. She even has done stairs which she hasnt been able to do. I'm so excited about her progress. She can walk in a straight line and without a hunchback. It was so hard to watch her all that time when she couldn't even use her pp pad without falling over. It's a whole new world for her lol. In two weeks they X-ray to see how her pins are and remove her cast. I can't wait for her to see what life's like for a normal baby princess!!! Yay!! As for her breeder Natalie Nelson it infuriates me that she chose To ignore my pleas for help when Mila stopped walking so little. But I'm a believer in karma. Kiss your healthy babies everyone!! We are so lucky for what they bring to our lives. I feel so blessed that Mila is doing so great! May everyone find a rainbow with a pot of gold tomorrow: )

Default Genetic defects in Natalie Nelson's breeding lines

You are not the only one who has bought a puppy with this problem, you are at least the third that I know of. Yes, it is genetic and Natalie knows about it in her breeding line but still cranks out litter after litter and just offers to "replace" the puppy...as if they are replaceable and disposable!

It literally sickens me, if you ever decide to file suit against her please contact me. Or if anyone out there needs other names of past customers who have purchased sick puppies, feel free to contact me. Or just search her name on here for a start, you are so not alone.

I'm glad your little girl is doing well. For some of us, $7,000 in medical bills or the life saving surgery wasn't an option. Natalie should be footing the bills for her greedy practices.

I wanted to add that my little girl had AAI was $4500 and came from Natalie. She had to be put to sleep on the advice of the vet that she would not get better. I alerted her years ago that this was genetic and if you search you will find another customer that also lost a puppy from her with AAI so for her to say in 35 years this has never come up is deplorable. Who knows how many times she's been alerted because her first question to me was wanting to know the parents names...so she knows it's in her lines!

This right here shows she is not reputable. ANY GOOD BREEDER would certainly know which of thier dog's were the parents. She is pushing out so many puppies she has no idea who is who. She is such a joke. I have also spead her name around in other area's about her breeding program and to stay as far away as possible.

Massachusetts Pet Lemon Law

Wow MA puppy lemon laws are terrible.
Actually they are not. MA has some of the best consumer protection laws in the country.

Pretty I am so sorry your little one had to be put down after her AAl . It makes me so angry to think of Natalie cranking out litter after litter of sick puppies at our experience and heartache. I wrote about a tiny sick dog named Valentino that has been extremely sick. He also was just diagnosed with AAl. The poor pups skull looks like Swiss cheese. Please take a look back at my posts and look up his pics. It's sad and sick. Natalie is playing god breeding these pups for her own greed then saying she has never had this happen, I'm the first. SHE IS A LIAR and a horrible breeder. If you would like to private message me your impersonal information I am working on something and would love if you could send me facts and statements on your experiences with Natalie Nelson's breeding. On a happier note and oh so cute Mila is out of surgery almost 6 weeks! Friday she gets her neck cast off and x rays to see if her pins are in place. At 13 months old it will be a entire new world being able to walk, play, and even started wagging her tail!!! Yay! Again thank you all so much for your well wishes. I wish I could have you all over for a doggie play date!!!

I mentioned AAI to Natalie two years ago and I found a post from someone who had a friend buy one of her puppies in 2011 that had to be put down due to AAI. Natalie replaced that puppy and the replacement puppy died 2days later. Amazing that she told you that you were the first.

I sent you my information, I would like to email you the list of other complaints, it's too long to message. A dozen people counting us. Sad that it's probably a drop in the bucket.

Did you read the link? I have no idea if it's true, but it says that:
Quote:
Massachusetts gives the buyer of a puppy 14 days to document that the pet has a contagious or infectious disease. Shockingly, it also provides only 14 days to document the existence of congenital or hereditary defects -- not nearly long enough for many common conditions to manifest themselves.

A buyer who can document the existence of disease or defect is entitled to either a replacement of the pet or a refund of the purchase price. But, unlike most states, there is no provision for reimbursement of veterinary expenses. Nor is there any penalty for failure to produce advertised registration papers.
While Massachusetts may have overall great consumer protection laws, this isn't good protection for buying a pup. Fourteen days to report a genetic defect? That's ridiculous.
