| Well, if you are lucky enough to visit your new grandbaby while she is in the hospital it would be great for you to bring home a blanket or small piece of cloth that smells like the baby. Also, if you are going to have any baby gear in your home- swing, bassinet, bouncy chair, etc, set them up now to get Rudy used to having them around and if they make noise or vibrate or whatever, make sure that you run them with Rudy there and give praise and treats. Rudy may not give two hoots about a new baby, perhaps a little sniff test and cocked head of curiosity, but other than that maybe nothing. Make sure when baby is over that Rudy gets love and praise so that he doesn't feel left out or pushed aside for baby. You won't really know what to expect from Rudy until the time comes, just remember to not leave baby and Rudy alone together- anything could happen, even something as innocent as Rudy marking the baby or jumping over her and scratching her. You just want to avoid any issues. =) Once baby is bigger make sure that you train HER how to behave around Rudy. She will need to respect his boundaries and learn his cues as to when he's had enough. At any rate, congratulations on the new grandbaby! =D
