| ![]() OP, I have to agree with the others, yorkies are not outside dogs. There whole way of life is focused on their person, as they seem to bond with one person the most. They'll love the whole family, but it just seems they want to be with the person they have chosen as THEIR person all the time. They want to eat near you, sleep near you, play near you and sometimes on you. ![]() ![]() PS Any chance you got your pup from the Carson shelter? We were looking at possibly placing a 2 year old Yorkie boy in our rescue. When we went back to pick up a little girl I'm currently temporarily watching, he was already adopted out to a new home. I was just wondering if this was the same little Yorkie. ![]()

| ![]() I agree. Shelters need to check more closely into the homes these animals are going to. |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | ![]() I first read this yesterday and the disturbing thoughts of this little creature being outside deprived of human affection and company keep recurring. In contrast our little girl is an expert at bed burrowing! We've had a cold snap on the Anglian Coast these last few days. Crystal has never known this before, so mum and I made sure her new fur coat keeps her warm on our walks. However the sea was smashing over the promenade here good style yesterday and we stopped at a shelter to seek respite from it's anger and escape the biting East wind. Crystal immediately climbed inside my coat and was shivering so badly, she stayed there while I had a flask of coffee. I was astonished how cold she was, as normally her temperature mimics a little hot-water bottle! I know LA, even in the winter is nothing like our climate, but even so I would think the isolation would be very upsetting for these little dogs, for whom human company is such an important constituent for well - being? |
