| Female Yorkie lifting leg? Random I know but does anyone else female yorkie lift their back leg when they pee? It's not like a full back leg lift like a male, but Cricket definitely lifts her back leg when she pees. She has been spayed. I have a female golden retriever that does the same thing. Anyway, just wondering?

YT 2000 Club Member | Teeka does! I like that she lifts her back leg a bit as the pee doesn't get all over the hair on her back legs!

| My sister's yorkie used to lift one of her legs to pee...I don't know if she got better aim at small plants/items that way or what but she commonly did that! I've always wondered if they learned that behavior from other dogs or if they just do it naturally for whatever reasons. |

| Little Lolita (RIP baby girl) used to do that, it was the cutest thing, she would squat and then lift her left leg.

| Princess will hike both her legs up a tree stump to mark lolll! Silly girl...she'll get into the weirdest position to do her stuff & I let her do it as much as she wants when we're walking outside.

| Sissy does lift her leg but only when the grass is long. I guess she doesn't like her butt tickled.

| Callie lifts one of hers just slightly when she pees I'm guess it has something to do with getting pee on them not sure though.

| Yep, Thalia does the same thing. It's cute. I also think she does it because she doesn't want pee to get onto her leg, ha ha.

| Lexie does the tripod pee, but not every time. Not sure why they do it.

| ZoE has always hovered a back leg a few inches of the ground when she pees, and then steps it forward when she's done. This way she doesn't pee on herself or step in puddle when she's done. Smart pup!

YT Addict | Jenna does the squat lift too. Except for the time she hurt her lower back and was sore for a few months. I knew she was better when the leg went up again.
