| whisker grooming My 3 year old yorkie has whiskers (stiff ones) that stick out and poke you when he cuddles with you. Our first groomer trimmed this back to his face and they took months to grow back before trimming was needed again. Since then groomers say they do not trim those whiskers. Any thoughts? | Uni HATES it when I try to cut her whiskers. They stick out, and some have a black tip from when she was a pup, and it looks weird with her gold roots. I have to snip one or two when she's not expecting it. Some people trim them all the way down and it doesn't bother them. Toto does not care whether I cut his or not. I guess Uni is just more sensitive to them.

| Teddy has a lot of whiskers and they are very sensitive. I think they have grown back thicker after I cut his.

| I've cut Momo's b4 bc I cut his face short & he has a lot of those thick whiskers...well, we're not supposed to! Does the Cutting of a Dog's Whiskers Change Their Behavior? | Dog Care - The Daily Puppy IDK if cutting them makes them 'shy, timid, or meek'...Momo surely wasn't loll!

| I do clip my girl's whisker's back if they get too long. It doesn't seem to affect them at all.

| I keep Tibbe's trimmed a little longer than his mustache. A dog's whiskers are very important to a dog's daily life. Dog Whiskers

| Have heard that about cats, but never encountered these stiff whiskers on a dog before. |

| Gizmo has got them too and the groomer seems to try to avoid cutting them when he gets his face trimmed up. Groomer is coming to my house Tuesday, I'm going to ask him if it affects them when they are trimmed. It will be very interesting as I have heard your not supposed to trim them, because they are very sensitive. |
