| New to Yorkie Talk!!! HI.. I have a 1 year old yorkie named Sonny. He is playful, fun, curious and energetic and most of all friendly. I love all of these qualities about him however I would like to see the protective side of him being that he is a yorkie. Sonny does not bark and doesn't bite. I love that he is overall quite and a social dog but it would be good to know that if I was in danger he would be ready to bark and not lick everyone. For example when someone is knocking on my door he will go to the door and sit and wait for me to open but he wont bark to get my attention. At times at night he will growl if he hears or sees something I assume but he is not directly getting my attention. Can anyone offer advice??. PS> I cant afford training classes right now. |

| New to YT also Hi, I have a brand new girl named Gabbi. My mom had a yorkie for 18 years and I finally have my own! She is 12 weeks old. I also have a ten year old Maltese. I would love for my dogs to be quiet and sit nicely by the door when someone comes! LOL... You are lucky! My Maltese goes crazy if anyone steps foot on our property line and won't stop barking for 15 minutes! I just pray she doesn't teach the baby that, but I'm not hopeful. |
