| "accidents" and laminate flooring Hi all. I lurk here a lot but post infrequently. Our new house has laminate flooring. I'm terrified that I will miss an "accident" (pee) and the flooring will be ruined. Everything I read on the web says the two don't go together well. I'm hoping, given the small volume usually associated with yorkies, that as long as they don't go repetetively in the same spot and as long as I clean up regularly as possible, a little pee won't immediately be disastrous. Does anyone here have laminate flooring? How has it held up with your yorkies? |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I had laminate flooring and as long as the pee doesn't sit too long it's ok. I had a plant stand and water spilt under it and sat for awhile and it warped the laminate.

YT 2000 Club Member | I also have laminate and as long as you clean it up fairly soon, it doesn't harm the floor. It does if it would seep in between the board or crack and then cause a raised or swelled look. I wouldn't worry too much as it cleans easily!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I agree w/ what the others say...as long as it doesn't sit long, it should be fine. The prob is if they continue to go in the same spot - then it's a real problem bc the laminate will soften and warp.

| I have a bubbled area in my family room floor laminate. One of mine puked while we were at work and i didn't get to it for several hours. I dont know if there is a way to correct it. If anyone knows, please tell me. It's really not that bad but I know it's is there.

| @ our old house, we had partial carpeting upstairs & the boys were marking here & there. Had to steam clean the carpet every 6 months...I hate carpet! Here, we have laminate flooring throughout except tile in the baths & kitchen. Their potty area is set up in both baths, upstairs & down. No accidents & so easy to clean, love laminate flooring!
