YT 1000 Club Member | Accused of Stealing My Own Yorkie??? Today I took Rasta with me while I was walking my son to school (right across the street from our home). While we were walking a lady stopped me and said "I've been looking for her everywhere!" and approached us. Rasta is not the really a "people dog" and started growling at the woman when she reached for him. The woman went on to say that her dog went missing on New Year's and I must of found "her". And that she put ads on craigslist, posters, etc. Rasta is a boy. Under normal circumstances I would have been polite and said she was mistaken but it was early in the morning, my coffee hadn't kicked in , it started raining, and she kept agitating my dog. I told her " My yorkie has a penis and I've had HIM since he was 3 months. Move away from him before he bites you, he obviously senses that you're nuts". When I got home I looked on craigslist and there IS a yorkie missing (a male not female like the woman said) in our area but it looks nothing like Rasta. How could someone not be able to recognize their own yorkie? I know some look similar but Rasta is still dark and a teeny 2.2 lbs at 8 months the dog on craigslist looked shaven, face was completely gold steel blue body, and looked around 4/5 lbs... |

YT 2000 Club Member | I agree, that is scary! You are lucky she didn't try and take him as she sounds like a nut case! By the way, he is adorable!

YT 1000 Club Member | It is scary and ppl are nuts. My husband told me to extra careful when walking the dogs or just wait til he gets home to walk them (I'm only 5 ft). He wants to get me a taser "just in case" I don't want to get close enough to have to use it. |

| Sad. Yorkies are the target of many thieves. Either this woman was not in her right mind or she felt she was going to score a new dog that morning. |

| Were there other people around? If so she might have been trying to steal him. You put up a fight but there on the street it would have been anyones guess and if she had actually got him to go to her.....Yikes! She had a 50/50 chance of getting the sex right and what if you were someone who had just found it? |

YT 1000 Club Member | I won't. I take him everywhere with me, my hubby hates it...we live on a military base so you have to have car tags/stickers and id to get on post. You'd think it would be a bit safer but this incidence shows there's crazy everywhere. Thank you he knows he's a cutie lol Last edited by ColesMommy01; 01-08-2014 at 09:35 AM. |

| I don't remember who posted it here but a YT'er was walking on a busy sidewalk when someone picked up her dog and tried to make off with it. Fortunately she had a Buddy Belt on the dog and she held on for dear life. The guy finally gave up but it goes to show the level of the degenerates that are out there. |

| Sounds like someone read Craig's List - but not too carefully - and then decided to steal some yorkies. I'm so glad that your precious little Rasta is safe! |
