Do your yorkies scratch or "build a nest" so to speak, before they lay down? Is this a yorkie trait?

Mine does.. You would think she was digging a ten foot hole . Then she turns and turns... She is worse than a cat.

All of mine do! They each have their nightly rituals and it always involves digging, turning in circles, burrowing and just getting themselves comfortable for a long nights sleep! I think it is cute and we always leave the light on until they are all settled and ready to sleep!

Bella didn't do it when she was younger, but she's starting to do it at 11 months. The more comfortable the bedding, the less scratching and circling she does. If I didn't lay a flannel Snuggie on her pillow, I'm sure she'd scratch until she made a hole in the pillow and had stuffing flying all over, LOL!

Gizmo is constantly doing this :-) even on the couch, just getting ready to lay on it is about a 5 minute ritual of digging his invisible hole, turning and turning, then finally lying down, it's too cute lol.

I think it's just a dog thing, every dog I've had has made a nest by digging and turning, until they got it just right.

Lilah will pick the blankets up in her mouth and turn and turn and a little dig and a turn

but I admit, I have three fleecy fuzzy blankets, a satin pillow and a pygora (cashmere and angora blend) hide that I snuggle up with at night so she doesn't have to do a lot of work to get comfy

The only time Gracie does any type of digging motion is when she wants to get under the covers of the bed. She will kind of dig at the edge of the blanket or comforter to let me know she wants in.

Sometimes when she is in crazy mode she will start digging wildly into something as she growls, barks and makes silly noises. I have no idea what that is about but she seems to enjoy it.

So funny! I read this last night before bed and was happy to see that my Chloe is not the only one! As we lay down every night she has to get things just right... Often I will have to ask her "Are you about finished?" Its so cute! On the couch or in the bed, same thing each time!

And heaven forbid that you try and help them arrange the nest. Charlie just looks at me like

" NOW I HAVE TO START OVER!!" .... and he does LOL

I watched Gizmo dig and twist the tree skirt for 5 mins last night before finally giving up and passing out.
