I have noticed she isn't going to the bathroom as much could that be the issue and she is constantly licking her butt. What can I do. I am calling the vet on Monday to see what we can do. | Is she scooting her butt? I'm thinking maybe blocked or impacted anal glands. Have the vet check. If they rupture it will be very painful and smelly. |

| Make sure she has access to clean water, add a little to her meals to increase her intake.

| Encouraging her to drink good clean water is always a good idea. Some dogs don't drink as much as they should because they don't like the dish their water sits in. It could be her anal glands are blocked up and she is only getting a small amount of the build up out when she goes. He diet is something to consider. Some dogs do better on a particular diet. Check you ingredient list and see if you think it sounds healthy to you. I hope your vet is able to help you with the problem. |

| Yup, it could be the anal glands bothering her. My Mimi licks her bum if her anal glands are full, that's how I know she needs them expressed...she never scoots, which is another sign. Certain foods makes the glands fill up faster. She can't have any fish based kibble & I stopped giving them chicken bc one of my guy was tested to be sensitive to it. I haven't had to express her anal glands for about a month now. I used to express it every 2-3 weeks bc she'll be licking back there. Take her to the vet, they'll be able to feel the glands & see if it needs expressing & they'll do it internally which is the best way to fully express. They'll also inspect the gunk that comes out & see if it's infected or not.
