| Need positive thoughts My Rory Jayne woke up sick today. She threw up in her bed, first thing. She throws up a lot though, so I didn't think too much about that. I've taken her to the vet and they said there was nothing wrong, she just doesn't handle stress or changes well, and throws up. But later on she pooped and there was blood in it. We bought a yorkie a while back who had parvo (we obviously didn't know that until the day after we bought her) so that terrified me. I have to work today and on Saturdays we're already shorthanded so I couldn't take any time off, but my daughters are on their way to the vet with her right now. Please keep her in your thoughts. I don't think it's parvo, really, but blood in poop can never be a good thing. |

| I called the vet and told them to expect her and they said it was fine but when the girls got there, they sent them away and said they were closing. They wouldn't even look at her! Wth?? They said keep her away from food and water for the rest of the day and if it continues to take her to the emergency clinic. I guess they're really ready to start their Saturday. :-/ |

That would upset me enough to find a new vet. Are you going to take her to emergency? | |

| Our regular vet isn't open on Saturday, this is the first time we've seen these people. And yes, we will. I may have to take time off, if my boss will go for it, because I don't want my daughter driving on the interstate. Or maybe my husband will do it for me. Idk, but we'll definitely figure something out. I just couldn't imagine a vet turning a puppy away like that. |

| On no I am sorry Rory Jayne is sick. Since you had a Parvo pup previously, I am hoping that you cleaned with bleach real well. Parvo can live on/in surfaces for at least 5-7 yrs if not cleaned properly. I would certainy find a vet to get her cheked out. That was horrible what that Vet did to you. Prayers that she will be OK.

| We did... we cleaned thoroughly, and just threw most of what Lola touched away. We only had her for one night, so it wasn't spread around. She didn't walk or anything while she was here. She had gotten shots earlier that day and we thought she was just sleepy from that, but overnight we realized it was parvo, and took her to the vet the first thing in the morning. They kept her a week, but she didn't make it, sadly. And Rory's UTD on her shots. Can they get parvo if they're fully immunized? I always think "OMG, it's parvo again" because of Lola, but I really thought since she had her shots she'd be protected. |

YT 2000 Club Member | dog Prayers for your yorkie. That stupid vet-I would call the Better Business Bureau or complain on line about that vet. How can anyone close up shop with a very sick dog outside They are in it for the money. I pray that that vet closes up and goes and flips burgers somewhere. No dog should be treated that way! |

| Just an update: Rory perked up after my daughters brought her home from the vet that wouldn't even look at her. We decided to watch her carefully, knowing that the emergency clinic was there if we needed to take her in. About an hour later, she was playing, running in circles, challenging Dallas to tug-of-wars, and completely back to herself. I don't know what happened, but it was short-lived, thankfully. I'm continuing to monitor her poops (which gives my family a huge laugh) but so far, so good! Thank you all for the well wishes! |

| These little one can give ya quite the scare!!! I keep a list of 24 hour emergency vets on my fridge and the magnet that's holding it up is the vet down the road. It's always good to have a back up plan. It seems like all the bad things happen outside the hours of 9 and 5 or they happen on the weekend. Last edited by theporkieyorkie; 12-16-2013 at 12:17 PM. |
