| Too old for nipping and biting? I just adopted Beemer from a rescue group. He is an 11 month old male. He was surrendered to animal control with a terrible case of demodex (mange). His skin and hair are fine now, and we were able to have him neutered three weeks ago at the age of 10 months. He had his puppy teeth removed then, too. He is a great little dog, but we are having trouble with him nipping HARD and acting aggressively. He seems to do this after he has been playing a while and immediately before he crashes and falls asleep. We have tried crying OUCH and NO BITE and leaving the room. We have held him up until he relaxes and held him down, too, but he is still being snarky. Sometimes he really hurts! Any suggestions to put a stop to this bad behavior? Otherwise, he is a sweet fella. |

| How long have you been doing the "Ow!" and "No bite" It's going to take a bit of time to break the habit. But it can be broken that way, just gotta be patient and persistent and make sure everyone is using the exact same words.

| Only thing that worked for us with Callie was a a squirt bottle with water and when she would nip we would say no and squirt her.

| The play time is very short. Usually, he just chews on his toys and Kong. We throw a ball or other toy so he is not worn out from playing. We have been yelling OUCH for about a month as long as he has been nipping. We resorted to ignoring and holding him when that didn't work. We will just keep on trying. I hope he grows out of this behavior. |

| Doing the alpha roll does not work for a lot of dogs and can make them even more aggressive I would not do that.

| Tell him No Bite & quickly put a toy in his mouth EVERY time he bites/nips. Never let him play bite/nip your hands. |
