| ![]() My Brandy escaped out of the yard after my nephews had let her out. Thankfully one of the neighbors saw one of the fliers I put up and brought her back home within 2 hours. Here are some tips: -Make tons of fliers, post one on each electricity pole or tree in the area. I know it sounds dishonest, but say she is not a purebreed, but a yorkie mix. Also, say that she is hypoglocemic or some other medical condition, write that she needs daily medication such as shots. I know it sounds dishonest, but there are all kinds of nuts out there who look for dogs in the neighborhood to pick up and people know how much yorkies are worth. This stops people from wanting to keep her for themselves, give her to a friend, or sell her. Those things are very tempting to a person unless something is wrong with the dog. The "mix" part makes people think that she's not worth as much as a real yorkie and couldn't use her for breeding or selling. These little things might help bring your dog back if someone who sees the sign considers keeping her. When I was making my signs, I didn't care as long as I got my baby back. It turned out a neighbor had picked her up. I only put a collar on her if she's going on a walk. -Definately write that there's a reward. -Take a walk around the neighborhood WITH the other dog and listen for barking and call her name. She may lead you to him if he's stuck somewhere. -Go during the day and ask all of the neighbors you come across if they've seen her and show her pics. -Post the flier at Petsmart and Petco. They will have cards they want you to fill out. If no one is there and there's a bulliten holder, put the entire flier in there. I did this with Brandy and they never removed it. -Call the yorkie rescue if there is one in your area -visit the local shelters, it only takes 3 days and then they're adoptable. Good luck with your little one, pls keep us posted. |
