She could be a teapot, which would be fine. I kinda hope she stays about this size, she's 10 months old, cause I like to carry her around everywhere I go.

Thinkin of your little one! I was so happy to have this surgery behind us! Others here recommended noises for Hope & they worked well!

I know how you feel I just had Izzy done today and I was a nervous wreck. She did well just waiting for her to drink now. And she is so darn Little. how big is your little one.

Gina lost about 3 ounces between the time of her surgery, and when she got her stitches out, she has gained the weight back, and is now close to 4lbs, she's back on track for her target weight. Hopes for a quick recovery, and as Yorkiefan said, not a mommy.

Of course she is your baby! I wouldn't have it any other way in my house for my Izzy. She is as of today 2lbs 6 ounces. I was a wreck all day> I even called the vet to make sure she was ok.

Many of the better breeders recommend waiting for those tiny Yorkies to achieve a better weight before getting them spayed. Because of a prior bad experience I had always gotten my females spayed before their first heat and usually by the time they were 6 months old. While I had several toy bred dogs in the past Gracie was the smallest of any of them. She was still very small at 6 months. We decided to wait until she matured some more before we took her to be spayed. Sometimes size and maturity are better things to consider than just the age of the pet.

We went through her fist heat without a problem and when she was nearing 5lbs we got her spayed. She was over a year old.

Even though to me she was still very small I went through the horrible stress of taking her to be spayed. It helped that I knew my vet had much experience working on Yorkies, small ones at that. It is always hard to take your baby and leave her or him in the hands of seeming strangers but if you know your vet's experience and expertise level it helps a lot to give you peace of mind.

I would recommend to anyone who has a pup that is going to be going in for surgery to talk to your vet and ask those questions. If they don't like answering questions then go to someone else....fast. If the vet thinks they can treat your little one just like any other regular sized pet....run away.

The vaccination schedule is not even the same for Yorkies. They should not be given all their shots at once like most dogs get them. If your vet doesn't realize that then they don't have the experience level you are looking for.

It is expected for a dog to be groggy when they come home from surgery. The next day should be better and the third day there should be a sizable improvement. A dog not feeling quite a bit better by the fourth day should be reevaluated by the vet.

Had Hannah spayed and baby teeth extracted on November 8th and at 11 mos. and 5.4 lbs she did great. The 1st and 2nd day was the hardest. She slept alot while I watched. She is back to her normal self. I have to slow her down. Hoping you are picking Bella up soon if not already and hoping for a speeding recovery!

Bella's home and doing well. Sleeping on my lap. She had 2 teeth removed.

Awesome to hear! Just gotta keep her from jumping for a while now. Easier said than done I know (all too well after the last couple of weeks lol) with an energetic yorkie.

Glad to hear she is doing well. I know for Izzy I had to keep her wrapped up in a blanket and make sure I got the little space heater out so she would stay warm yesterday. Now today she wants to run alittle bit and when I was looking jumped off the couch. So now I have her locked in her playpen so she doesn't hurt herself.

I'm keeping Bella wrapped in her blankie so she doesn't shiver. She's on lap and doesn't even want daddy this evening.
