Well, I have now switched Cook back to her Royal Canin kibble, and will never feed her that Pedigree garbage again (I'll do chicken and rice and also cottage cheese next time she needs soft wet food). I figured it would be tough to change back to solid food, but she is loving her Royal Canin! |
Which canned Pedigree were you using? I have used it for years and I would not use anything else. Mine get either the chopped chicken, the ground chicken and rice, the Healthy Digestion or the Beef and Chicken puppy food. I just mix an little in with their dry food so they are not getting a lot of it. I don't like the Pedigree canned food that has the chunks with gravy and I don't feed the beef except when feeding pups the canned pedigree beef and chicken puppy food. I am so glad Cookie is doing well. |
Do some research on dog adviser on ratings for dog food |

My girl's poops look so much better now that she is back eating her Royal Canin. Firm and not dark anymore, and no more puking in the night like she did a couple of times on the Pedigree. |
Yayyyy Makes a difference |
Glad to hear that things are better for your girl:) |
Time is going so slow, but at least we'll be halfway through by the end of tonight. It's so funny when I put Cook in her cage for the night she'll kind of growl at a low volume to indicate she thinks it's BS to sleep after sleeping a lot in the day without being able to burn off any puppy energy running and jumping like she usually does. But I can't let her exercise because that would 100% involve jumping. I feel so bad for her when I hear those gripes at night and can't wait until we can chase each other around again Monday morning after next. |
Lol I'm going thru same thing,my baby , "erf's" when she gets impatient and frustrate with me, and it's going to be one of those weeks. |
1 week down, 1 week to go. Now she has her energy fully back, and is really going nuts being cooped up in a room where she can't jump on things. Yesterday night when I was trying to get her to take her out she started doing zoomies across the room, so I had to crate her for 10 minutes to cool her down. Exactly one week from now I'll be able to take her in to get those stitches out. |

It seemed like such a long time for me with my Bailey. Having said that, looking back, I can't believe it's already been a year. Hoping that this last week goes faster than anticipated!!:aimeeyork:aimeeyork |

Yay!! |
3 more days until my baby can go and be a dog again. |
Finally the last day. At 9:45AM tomorrow my vet will remove Cookie's stitches, and she can finally run and jump again. She has handled her forced downtime like a champ, but wow, this girl really needs to get outside to have some real fun again. I have chew toys for her and I spend lots of time with her, but none of that is probably as much fun as she has just exploring the yard, chasing squirrels and butterflies, gnawing on sticks, and doing zoomie laps with me around the yard. This has been such an incredibly long two weeks and I know this day is just going to drag, but the downtime is almost over! :) |
