Congrats! Glad you have your baby home, and she's doing good. Trust her, she'll only do what she can, if she does too much she'll find her limit and won't go past it. Cheers Quad:aimeeyork |
Seems like she doesn't want to lay down; Cook's just kind of sitting up. The incision is smaller than I was expecting, but it still must hurt like hell. Vet said not to feed her a meal until this evening since she'd likely throw it up (she puked before I picked her up), so I gave her some Nutrical to get some nutrients into her without having a lot of mass that her stomach might not want right now. |
Cookie just wants to stand there. I can tell she is tired, but she doesn't want to lay down. :( |
Nevermind; literally 5 seconds after I typed that Cook curled up for a nice nap. |
Crap, she was doing pretty good, but puked a few minutes ago. Maybe I shouldn't have given her the Nutrical? I'll wait a couple of hours and then give her a very small serving of Pedigree and see if she can hold it down. I did get my girl to successfully pee outside a couple of hours ago! |
How are you doing now yorkiefan ? I'm anxiously keeping up with your progress with your fur baby too. Praying for a speedy recovery . My baby goes in tomorrow. Have you tried a little chicken an rice? Suppose to be gentle on the stomach . I'm preparing to be down and out with my Zoey . She finds the most comfort touching my skin either under my chin or curled up on on my arm.... I don't see much talk of procedure here like lazer , traditional or laparoscopic . I was stressing out about that . I worry they go all day with nothing in tummy, my baby will be 6 months on the ninth but only barely 3 lbs. :( Keep us informed..... Any advice for yet another worried mommie? |

I hate her having to go to bed with no food in her stomach, but she can't keep anything down. She seems a lot more active than I was expecting. She has gone pee outside twice today since the spay and even wanted to walk around a bit outside when I took her last about 20 minutes ago. I don't have any good advice; today has been pretty rough. I just saw her find a way into her bathing suit to lick at the stitches, so I had to duct tape (lol) her bathing suit a little tighter there. |
I can't wait until Cookie's a little closer to normal the next day or two. |
She really needed my blanket to sleep on today. I guess smelling me on it was comforting even though I have been laying next to her since bringing her home at 11:30 AM. She wouldn't sleep on anything else (had three other thick blankets and pillows for her to lay on), but she slept like a baby on the blanket I normally sleep in. |

LOL. Ahhh!!! I never thought of that. Oops, my bad:rolleyes: What I meant to say was a good 'daddy':D Cheers! Still chuckling BTW:aimeeyork:aimeeyork |
Just took Cookie out for a pee break, and by the way she was walking you would never guess she had surgery yesterday. Pretty much exactly what Deb Sillers (our breeder) told us to expect. That gives me confidence that she should be able to keep her breakfast down when I give it to her in an hour, as the anesthesia looks like it has worn off. |
Good to hear, I'm off to take Gina now, and nice to know another Dad on here. Cheers Quad:aimeeyork |
