| Looking To Adopt Young Adult Yorkie Happy New Years - I just lost my best friend Trapper who was my Yorkie companion for about 13 years. I am just devastated by the loss, which was sudden. I don't feel that I would be able to care for a baby Yorkie since I work some miles away from my home. However, I would be interested in adoption. Please let me know if you are aware of any reputable breeders or rescue shelters in Illinois.[SIZE=2] |

| Here are some websites to get you going. If you have patients you will find the perfect dog. Just keep in mine from May on, a lot of young dogs will be turned in because they were bought for the Xmas Holiday and people couldn't housebreak them. I am thrilled you would consider a rescue and they make fine pets with a little extra love and attention. petfinder is a national data base so I would start there. Good Luck! http://www.unitedyorkierescue.org/ http://www.yorkierescue.com/ http://www.petfinder.org http://www.yorkshireterrierrescue.net/ http://www.barkbytes.com/rescue/yorkie.htm

| I am so sorry to hear about your loss. There is a United Yorkie Rescue; Sophie's Isle of York rescue;SaveAYorkie; You can always try the breeders in your area to see if they are retiring a Yorkie or have an older puppy that they have had to take back or kept for some reason and now want to place it. Good Luck in your search.. |

| I am so sorry to hear about your loss. We were able to adopt an adult yorkie (2 yrs. old) that is healthy, but the breeders sold her because she is too little to breed. I second the motion on talking to local breeders for such adults. Best of luck to you!!!!! |

| Hi ALA. Sorry about your loss. Where in Chicago are you? Have you checked petfinder? I often check but none seem to be in IL. Mandy (miezzi) got her little Brasco in NW Indiana from a Yorkie rescue. Best of luck in your search. I'll keep an eye out for you as I am always looking for babies who need new homes in our area.

| My heart goes out to you for your loss. I got my adult 2 1/2 year young Yorkie from a breeder. She retired her early as her second pregnancy was horrible for her. I would suggest trying to contact breeders in your area.

| So sorry to hear about Trapper. I know that some breeders retire their females and place them in good homes. Try finding a breeder near you.
