| Are there covers for xpens? I've had Leo for about 3 weeks now. For the first week, I tried putting him in a crate at night but he would whine hours on end..I would get up once or twice and take him outside, put him back in and he would continue to whine. For that whole week my work performance was awful to say the least from the lack of sleep. I said screw the crate and bought him an xpen. He did great in that for a few days, then a few mornings ago he was outside my bedroom door. Clearly he had climbed out of his xpen. He was doing great in it at night time, when it was time for him to sleep. Tonight, I put him in it at the same time I do every night, and he started to whine and climb up the sides as I was going upstairs. I turned off the lights and waited to see if he'd calm down, which he didn't. So, I took him outside and of course he didn't do anything. Then I got his crate and put him in it. He started to whine, bark and make little howling noises. He is downstairs, so I'm going to set an alarm on my phone so I can wake up and take him outside later. I used to keep him in my room with me, but my rabbit distracted him and all he did was whine and wanna play with Toki, my bunny. I need to know are there any covers for xpens? OR perhaps a pen he can't climb out of? Clearly he does not like being in a crate. When he's older and house trained I'll allow him to sleep with me.

| Sounds like Gizmo we used to use baby gates to keep him in the dining room on the tile when we would leave the house. We would come home and he would be out in the living room. We even started doing 2 gates tall (one on top of another) and he would still be out. I was worried that he would get hurt jumping down from the top. These dogs are climbers! We ended up doing one baby gate normal and the second one tilted/slanted in towards the dining room so he could not climb it. Thank goodness there was a hallway so we could do that. Is there anywhere in your house that maybe you could try that until he is potty trained? I don't have pen so I don't know about that. Good luck! |

| How about putting a blanket/sheet to cover the top? If you're bit handy, I'm sure you can make a frame out of wire/wood strip and make it into something like a cap for the pen? If you're looking for something more solid, get some 1/8" hardboard from home depot or lowes and ask them to cut it to whatever size you need. How did you come up with the name "toki" for your bunny? I find it amusing b/c "toki" is bunny in Korean. LOL |

| I was doing the sheet thing at first when I had a regular xpen, but my Gizmo learned how to pull it down in the pen with him. I bought the richell xpen that has a top that you can buy for it, and it as been awesome !!!! It's very nice looking to, with a nice sturdy wood frame the top clips right over the edges. It was truly the best investment ever. I bought the medium sized richell xpen (which is the largest one with plenty of room) and the top. The pen is expandable so you can make it anywhere from 3' to 5'. The pen also come with a tray that goes under it, so it protects your floor as well, which was awesome for me, as I have hard wood floors in my living room. |

| I bought mine on wayfair.com (they have coupons some times so google first) I loved the richel it was a lifesaver. I still have it but only use the potty side now as Jess has run of the house. (although she has had a few accidents this week so she may be making a repeat visit to it) It really is worth the price and its big enough they don't feel like its a cage.\I got the medium too! you can start with it small and hen expand it Last edited by kimp5; 10-29-2013 at 03:57 AM. |

| We had the same problem. We bought those soft mesh people use to make window screen, and clamp it down on top of the xpen using small but heavy duty clips (tried laundry clips, fail). After trying 5+ methods, this is the only one that works... We are both civil engineers... can't restrain a pup...
