Draco is named from my favorite characters in Harry Potter. He was also up for a quite a few David Bowie related names that my family shot down. But now I think it fits. The character is kind of spoiled/bratty which is definitely Draco. But the character was also my favorite for how complex he was. Sirius, Remus, and Dobby were also up for consideration lol. |
Rasta got his name from the Rastafari Movement which started in Jamaica where my fam is from ;) |
My 6 year old son named our yorkie Brody. :) I think he did great! |
Love reading all the stories on names. I love of shopping at Macy's so I had the name Macy picked out long before I got Macy. Her full name is Macy Merry Dawn - Macy after Macy's and Mery Dawn from the kennel she came from. When I decided to get another Yorkie I wanted another "M" name and I couldn't decide on Molly, Morgan or Mya. When Deb "Amazing Yorkies" sent me an e mail with Molly's picture, she looked like a Molly to me. I call her Good Golly Miss Molly. |
I named mine Si, after Uncle Si on Duck Dynasty - Looks just like him with silver hair and beady eyes, his personality is like his too! |
Mine was Zsa Zsa, becasue when I was a little girl I loved a movie happily ever after (the continue story of snow white) and one of the characters I loved was a fairy named Blossom, and the voice was from the actress Zsa Zsa Gabor ! (which i looked in the vhs movie packing) and she looked so motherly like and elegant and gorgeous and I fell in love with her & the name... so that's why I named her like that .. reminds me of my childhood innocence and ofcourse the elegant and stong independent and sweet actress... :D Zsa Zsa has a longer name but ill explain later :P hehe |
I think someone here mentioned the name Charlie when I was trying to think of a name. I almost named him Cody. As soon as I heard Charlie I knew it was a match. Sometimes I even call him Charlie Brown as a nickname. :) |
I was into a show called The Sanctuary (syfy geek... :D) I really liked the character Helen Magnus. I was drawn to the name so I looked up the meaning. "Great" Thought it was perfect fit for my boy! Plus, I enjoy some of the reactions I get when someone asks his name. LOL |
I originally was going to name her Twix, like the candy, because of her tan and black coloring when she was a baby. However, before we picked her up at 16 weeks, we watched a movie called "Hachi, a Dog's Tale" based on a true story (be careful if you haven't watched this movie yet, have a box of kleenex ready). Sachi's name was inspired by this movie. My husband liked Hachi but because the dog in the movie was a boy, I couldn't get away from associating Hachi as a boy's name. As such, Sachi came to mind. Sachiko also means child of joy and she truly is a joy! Our first yorkie was name Choo Choo because my husband loved trains as a child. |
I sure love reading all the reasons you named your furbaby after.:) Keep em coming.:animal36 Cheers! |
