Welcome! You have come to the right place to help you with just about anything with you new pup!!!! |
Welcome!!! I also have my Yorkie and other pup on the Blue Buffalo Freedom (Grain Free). Start with the puppy for a year then they have ones made for small breed that my dogs love. Just make sure that when you first switch over you want to mix the old food and the new 50/50 to help with the transition so it doesn't upset their stomach. |

I hope that the transition will be better than I had with Bailey... he just took out the old food, kibble of course, and ate the new:) Smarty pants! He knows what's good for him.:aimeeyork All the best of luck! |
Thank u. Everyone here has recommended that food. I don't want to feed him anything that will hurt him. Thx so much. U all are so nice. |
Welcome to YT. It is best to let your puppy really settle in well before starting to change the food. They tend to be picky eaters anyway so you don't want to have him get off his feed and then not be able to get him eating again. Try to find the best quality food you can. Read ingredient lists. There can be a huge difference between brands. Just because they have cute pictures of your breed or any breed does not mean a thing about quality. Use your common sense. IF the ingredients look like nothing you would feed your dog yourself then you are probably right not to buy it. There is a lot of misinformation out there about pet foods right now. Try to find a non bias site to find good information to educate yourself about the brands and the industry it's self. |
