| My new rescue I have had 3 other yorkies in my lifetime. Bailey- lived to be 17 years old. Dexter- was 12- when we left the US- and rehomed with grandma, and doing well. Piper- age 3 died at the Vet under sedation- having an x-ray- just before she was going to be shipped to middle east to live with us. We were devestated to say the least. Upon arrival in the UAE, i put our name on a rescue list=saying I was up for a yorkie if they had one in need. A year later- I got the call. We have had our little man, Skipper, for 4 weeks now. The vet estimates his age to be under a year. We had him neutered right away, and he has quit marking and humping everything and everyone! But he is biting us- just playful nips- since I don't really know how old he is, I'm not sure if he is being aggressive or playful or teething. He is SO destructive- wanting to eat all my plants and shoes...and anything laying in his path. He seems to know what pee pads are for, so the potty issue is not driving me too crazy. When he was rescued- he was dyed Pink (arabs do lots of crazy things) so his hair was shaved and he is the color of an adult yorkie now- silver and tan. I remember my other yorkies at babies, but since I don't know Skipper that well, I am wondering if I should be concerned with the constant destruction and chewing on hands. He has gained at least a pound since he has been with us, and seems pretty relaxed and happy- but, he is sort of driving me crazy. I have been taking him on LONG walks 3x a day to wear him out. We do live in a high rise- and that is new to me, as far as dog ownership - much more work than in a yard in Texas! But i do have a lovely park and beach here in Dubai. Just wondering how I can be more accurate on his age, and if I should be concerned. Trying to do my best by Skipper. I do already love him, and he is super cute and very socialized with other dogs and people. I think we are both pretty lucky. |

| How wonderful for you both! Welcome. I don't know how to judge age. I'd just make sure he gas plenty of appropriate chew toys.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Congratulations! Skipper sounds like an energetic young yorkie. It sounds like you are doing a good job getting him exercise. It may just take a little more time since he is a rescue and you don't know his past.

| Congratulations He will settle down I promise. He has just not really learned how to behave so far in his life and if you keep on with kind but firm guidance and loads of exercise he will settle in no time! And can we see some pictures please? |

| Welcome. I knew a makeup artist who moved to Dubai. It sounds like things are normal. I would just keep consistant with training and positive reinforcement. Seems like your pup is enjoying their new life. Congrats and bless you & your new pup.!
