YT Addict | This really ticked me off this morning. While doing some schoolwork for my psychology class, I was looking up something on Urban Dictionary and I came across this. "1. Yorkshire Terrier A small dog that resembles a toupee with legs. Its fur looks like something you would pull out a clogged drain in a bathtub. Often owned by overweight single women due to the fact that it doesn't need as much exercise as most other dogs. Yorkshire Terriers are dumb, difficult to house break, and tend to be territorial despite the limitations of their size. They often attack strangers and larger animals, disregarding their own size disadvantage. These behaviors are, however, encouraged by their owners because they see it as being "cute". These dogs are probably the best example of artificial selection. They have weak bone structure which causes them to be unable to survive short falls. They also are known to suffer from things like seizure, liver shunt, and collapsed trachea. Normal Dog Owner: What the hell is that mop trying to do to my dog? Yorkshire Terrier Owner: It's dominating. Isn't it cute? Normal Dog Owner: Well it's going to dominate its way into my dog's stomach if it isn't careful. Yorkshire Terrier Owner: Help, my dog broke every bone in its body! Vet: What the hell happened? Yorkshire Terrier Owner: It jumped off my foot stool!" It really makes me mad that this is what people think of our precious babies as well as us. UGH! Sorry rant is over now this just really got me this morning.

| LOL toupee with legs, That's a good one! I think it's pretty hilarious.. I'm sure whoever wrote it thinks he is a jokester and doesn't mean anything he says.. and if he does who cares-

| Ehh, that's just one persons opinion... Ok, maybe there's many who feel that way, but those things can & have been said about any other breed (chihuahua's, poodles, etc, especially!) and it's usually from people who've had limited experience with the breed, or experience with one bad apple. I happen to love pitbulls, and imo those are wonderful & loving dogs with a terrible reputation perpetuated by misguided & misinterpreted facts that cause alarm and fear. All I can do about that it share my personal and positive knowledge to help educate people who don't know any better. Same idea with yorkies, which while I've heard a few lame comments (usually pathetic attempts at jokes- rat dog anyone?), for the most part, people either don't think much about them or they really like them. I don't know a single person who genuinely dislikes our sweet, little breed. Even those I know who said they knew a couple real yappers, or divas, still thought the breed in general was cute. Whoever wrote that description is probably a disgruntled ex-boyfriend who's jealous that his girlfriend chose her sweet little dog over his mean self.

YT Addict | That may be true, but I have heard many people lately putting down yorkies for some reason, and seeing things like this and knowing other people read it too just aggravate me. This just hit me the wrong way this morning.

| "Toupee with legs" -- lol! That is funny. Yorkies don't need much exercise? Obviously doesn't know much about Yorkies. I think these people are just being silly.

| I think so too, I also think now a days people try to say things to get pointed out. You know with shows like Tosh.O and the random internet sites that point out things that people say- ( Chive.com)..

YT Addict | I guess I have just heard so many things lately putting Yorkies down. like just the other day I was in a pet store with my girls and I had a man tell me how dumb it was to dress them up and that they could walk and he could not believe anyone would ever cut a dogs tail, and while I know he was just being a jerk it pissed me off. My babies are like my kids and seeing anyone put them down really makes me mad. I just wish people would see how really smart our yorkies are and how they are much more than just a cute face.

| The one that annoys me the most is "Oh a Yorkie, is it yappy!?"

| Consider the source of this, and does it really matter what others think? Me, I love being owned by a Yorkie, I don't dress her up, didn't with Megan either, but that's just me. Morons will be morons no matter what subject they are talking about. We know the truth of our Yorkies, and the hell with anyone who believes that moron in Urban Legend. There my rant is over. Long live our Yorkies. Cheers Quad

| ^^^^ This ... the urban dictionary is very tongue in cheek .. I've written some articles in there for Australian slang words ... But it show that there is a wrong perception about Yorkies (and other small dogs) similar to wrong impressions about Pitbulls ..... while with everything there is also a "touch" of truth in any kind of joke ... Bottom line is we all love our tittle bundles of joy regardless of what others think ... I've been called "gay" or a sissy by big burly guys in the street when walking my girls(s) especially Zadie when she was alive as she was very "prissy" ... I would just smile and laugh inside as the attention I would get from girls from having Zadie walking with a party dress was awesome :-) :-) Have a great day everyone :-) chers

YT 1000 Club Member | I've noticed that most ppl that say things like that have never really been around or met a yorkie they may just see them in passing and think they're useless because they're so small and bark alot :-) |
