| There may be two options/scenarios. 1) The lady was so distressed of the incident with the dogs that she left her purse behind and in her mind the dogs stole it. 2) The dogs were trained to attack and come back with items to the owner

Maybe the dogs think there would be food in the "bag" and snatched it? | |

| I think I have to go with #2 on this one, with a smart dog, you can train it to do just about anything, and this isn't the 1st time I've heard of this happening. This happened in Charleston SC when I was stationed there, in the late 80's. I hope they catch this person, and that the lady is alright, also that they don't put these dogs down, for doing what they were told and trained to do. Cheers Quad

| Well the first words out of my mouth that made my boss lady crack up and told me to post it were, "I think this is a case of animal profiling"

| I think it's very believable that dog could be trained to attack and steal a purse. After all, dogs are trained to attack all the time and dogs are trained to retrieve, so why not a two step command - take down and retrieve? |

| I agree it would be totally possible for a good trainer, smart, military-style trained dogs.

| It reminds me of an older movie (can't remember the title)...it was about Dobermans, trained to rob a bank!
