YTNR -- cruel to humans I just want you to know that Mary Elizabeth and the entire YTNR organization have to be the cruelest bunch of women I have every encountered. I surrendered my dog to them on a Saturday and asked for Kaylee back on Sunday. My wife has a medical condition and I thought surrendering Kaylee was the best for all concerned. I quickly learned it had the exact opposite effect on my wife. YTNR has refused to even consider an exception to their policy to let me have our Kaylee back. I have offered to fly to Tennessee to meet with her -- she has refused. I have offered a donation to the organization of $1000.00 to let us have her back. I have offered to let them come visit our house to see where Kaylee lived -- they have refused. I have submitted a doctors report that clearly says my wife's condition would be helped if they would return Kaylee -- they have ignored it. They clearly do not care about my wife's health despite the doctor's recommendation. I haven't found one person yet who could understand the cruelty these people have shown by not returning our dog. One of their own volunteers recommended that Kaylee be returned -- but Mary Elisabeth simply refuses.

I too have had issues with them. I have been wanting for atleast the past 5 yrs to adopt a yorkie from them. The first application I sent in was ignored, but gave them the benfit of the doubt and filled out another one about 2 months ago. I was sent a rude e-mail informing me that eventhough I am 27 and would be paying all fees and vet bills, etc I could not adopt a yorkie simply because I live at home with my parents. My mom has cronic daily migraines and on disability so my parent have been very kind to let me stay and build up my bank account as long as I help out with mom and look after lil bear when my dad can't or my mom is feeling very bad. I ended up so aggravated by them and other adoption agencies that I gave up and found a breeder and got a yorkie-poo. I totally agree with yorkierose contact a lawyer. I know you are probably blaming yourself too, but don't get upset at yourself, they are the ones not doing the right thing. I know if my mom didn't have lil bear there would be days she wouldn't get up, the rescue should know how important these little babies are to there owners (parents) heatlh. I send you lots of luck keep us posted.

Did you have the registeration for your dog, and did you sign it over to them. If so, I would contact AKC and tell them you lost the paper and need to get a duplicate. They should have the information on file, and I think maybe the duplicate will superceed the orginal one. Then maybe you can use that to try and get Kaylee back. I am not sure that it will work, but it is worth a try.
