| Buddy belt sizes Well I think Axel is going to be a tiny one he is at 4 pounds 3 ounces right now 24 weeks. At the rate he is growing he will hopefully gain at least another pound. Right now his chest is 11 inches. I really want to get him a buddy belt but I know he still has some growing to do. So my question is, for those of you who have some 5 pounders and have buddy belts what size did ya'll get for them? My other yorkie Sakura is a ten pounder having Axel so tiny is strange. |

| Peanut is 6 years old and weighs 4 pounds. I don’t remember when I bought his first Buddy Belt, I believe he was 2 years old. I do remember when I bought it, he was in between sizes. He was too small for the 2 and the 3 ( at the time) was a little big. I ended up buying the 3 and taking it to the leather/shoe shop at the Mall and he added some holes in the middle of some of the holes already on there. It was a perfect fit after I did that. If there were a size for Peanut I think he would be a 2 ½ but they don’t have that so I made my own!! I recently bought another BB and I have yet to take it in, I plan on taking it in, just haven’t went to the mall…So that is always an option for you. He did a great job too, matched the rings and everything- Can’t even tell something was done. http://buddy-belts.com/wp-content/up...art_metric.jpg

Keep in mind that you cannot put a larger BB on him right now. It won't hold him safely.

| I'm in the same position, I decided to wait until Lola's around a year old. |

Although it was hard to wait for our first BB, I agree with Kristen, a larger belt would not be safe for Axel. | |

| Khloe is 5 pounds and wears a size two on the second to smallest hole. She is an odd size though, she has a very small rib cage.

| Gizmo is just over 3 lbs right now, and wears a size 2, I think he will probably be in a size 3 once he's full grown. |

| We have a beautiful size 2 BB that is way too big for my little one, Rosie. It belonged to her big sis Luma but she outgrew it pretty quickly. I held onto it for ages since I knew I would have another yorkie at some point but honestly, I'm starting to wonder if we will ever get to use it. Rosie is 10 months old and still being stubborn about growing. A size 1 is on its way in the mail right now I would get the size three, but in the meantime you need to get a smaller harness that will fit properly. They can get their legs out of the BB leg holes quite easily if its too big, and then they can slip out. Very dangerous!

| Thanks all! I was also thinking a size 3 but just wanted to make sure. I know he is still too young for his adult size buddy belt, no worries. I'm not getting it yet. I was wondering what size I should be on the lookout for, for when he is done growing. I stalked ebay for the longest time for Sakura's buddy belt. I doubt I'll have that luck again but you never know. I have to break him of chewing up his harnesses before it too. He has already chewed up one and I had to buy another. Little devil. Look at that face! |
