| haircut help my daisy is 10 months old. I have been trying to grow out her top and her body but keep her legs trimmed... her bangs are at an awkward stage and its getting in her mouth. I try to rubber band them out of her eyes but she rips at the hairtie till her bangs fall out and then when she eats or drinks it goes in her mouth and she ends up chewing it.. so is there a way to cut her hair short but still look feminine. I dont want her to look like a boy. |

| Bumping your thread for others to see. There are lots of girls here who don't have topknots. I think they look feminine. When I look at a Yorkie picture, I can almost always tell the girls from the boys.

| I use baby scrunchies in Kyra's hair. There is more upkeep with the longer coat like washing their beards and such after they eat but I love the look.

| I braid my yokies hair, specially the topknots. It keep their facial hair out of their face and their mouth and its not so tight that they notice itīs there (which is what happens with a regular band or clip).Any hair that I want out of the way, I braid. It works for me Milo in a braid: http://i583.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps2fbfb29c.jpg http://i583.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps698bb1f5.jpg Last edited by Ginas_babys; 09-08-2013 at 12:39 PM. |

| thank you so much for you help. I decided since it was so whispy and delicate baby hairs I would cut it short and grow it out better this time. I did used to braid it but she would still bat at it and undo the braid in the front.... I have a couple pink shirts that help but she definatly still looks like my little girl.. I was worried for nothing. Thanks so much for your input. I love coming on here for advice |

| Hi, I also have a 10 mos old female yorkie. I tie up her topnot with a small black rubber band (for little children) and then we trimmed her face/nose with mustache trimmer to keep it clean. She is adorable like this, so glad we decided to trim it. She was always dripping water when she drank! She seems happier with it trimmed. She doesn't mind the topnot, been doing it for many months now so she'd get used to it. Give yours time, she may want to rub it off, but will get used to it. And as their hair grows and thickens, it will be easier for us to keep it in place. |

| I use a soft terry band, the smallest I can find, and like others say not to tight. I also keep her face cut in what I call a westie wedge, I think she looks cuter than with the long hair dragging her face down and getting in her food and water.
