| Potty Bell Training We are going to start bell training Willie soon. Our bells came with a "how to" disk. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions that can help? Thank you

| We got one from chuck and don for $6. Before we go outside, we shake the bell first and say "potty outside" it took us about a week for her to learn.

YT 500 Club Member | Taught my yorkies since day one. Hold there paw and tap bell, say potty, repeat this often, and they will pick it up. Took my babies about a week. Make sure they can reach bell with paws. I used a big Xmas jingle bell. It works!

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | I need to do this! Currently we just all go outside at random times throughout the day. If I am sewing & forget, Tuffy will come stand at my feet & do this tiny low guttural noise...not quite a growl. Ooops, welcome to YT! Hope you enjoy the forums as much as I do.

| My brother does this with the rescues he fosters (though they're mostly larger adult dogs), and he says it works really well for him.

| I have the jingle bells in my car and have been meaning to start this and was wondering how to train for it. Last night, I put Ricky's buddy belt on and turned around to put Princetons buddy belt on him. i stand up to get their leashes and i see Ricky walking away from a huge puddle on the arm of the couch(The arm is about a foot wide and they can stand or lay on it). I can't believe the little stinker stood there and pee'd right on the couch...basically right in front of me!! And he walked away like he did nothing wrong!! He's gotten so used to the carpet cleaner that he will literally sit there right next to you as you clean up his messes!! |

| Abby was really scared by the bells hanging over her but not by them laying on the floor, so we started there. Everytime she touched the bells I gave her a treat. She was only a puppy so I just did it before dinner every day for a few minutes over about a week. Then I moved them to the corner by the garage door (I actually thumbtacked them to the baseboard) Everytime she touched them I gave her a treat and opened the door. Then I stopped treats and just opened the door (that was like a treat to her) then I spent two weeks opening the door Many times a day! We ended up just using two bells attached to a string nailed to the baseboard and she kicks it to go out. |
