| My baby is in heat She is bleeding. I found blood spots on the kitchen tiles. How long is the female heat cycle?

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | It depends on the dog. I've had females be in heat for 5-6 weeks others only 4-5 weeks.

| If you have a female out in public areas, while she is in heat, you are going to get swarmed by male dogs from a country mile radius! You better have a stick to beat the off with! |

| At least a small dog is easier than a bigger breed as we can pick them up if any other dogs approach. Your little girl will TRY to get outside to be mated too so make sure everyone in the house knows to keep all doors shut so she cannot sneak or run out Over here in the UK we generally get bitches spayed halfway between seasons so three months after their previous one |

| Just talked with the vet. Will be spaying her in September. Is it normal for them to lick down there? We notice she has been licking herself down there a lot and us.
