Other Yorkie/Shih Tzu owners: please post pictures! Most I've seen take on the Shih Tzu look while my dog leans more toward the Yorkie side.

If you really want to know for health reasons then I would suggest having your dog MARS tested. DNA testing rescue and shelter dogs for breed(s) identification was the original purpose for the MARS test. The breeds you listed as a possibility are in the MARS database so you should get good results. The basic test that sells for $50-$70 (MARS will occasionally run a special) will provide the best possible list of breeds. If it does not matter to you to know for certain then save your money.

Science/DNA is the only sure method; appearance of the dog can be misleading. I do not recommend MARS products for any purpose other than identifying breeds in rescue or shelter dogs.

Thanks for rescuing her and supporting the shelters! She sounds like she lucked out and found a loving home!
