| My baby boy stinks to high... Hello all I come to YT daily but I am a spy mostly lol. But I just had to say my boy Jinx was just sitting by my feet on the porch when I heard him crunch I immediately look down and he's eating something. I pick him up rush in the house and take out this stinky slimy fish head. Then the smell hits I'm gagging so bad and my eyes were watering it was horrible! This head had to be a week old and sitting in the sun. He had this slime and fish skin all mashed in the hair on his face. I had to give him a bath and he hates the bath. I probably traumatized him because I had to get this stuff out. I was horrified to find a maggot on his face! I thoroughly washed the poor guy a few times and He still stinks to high heaven! Boys are gross! He also finds the dried slugs in the yard and I have to pry them out of his mouth too. So I have a few questions: Anyone have a gross loveable dog too? How do I get rid of this horrible smell? Can you get lungworm from dead slugs? All I could find about lungworm from slugs was in Scotland or something. I already talked to the vet about the fish bones I gave him bread but I will have to watch him for a few days. The vet said he should be fine though since he didn't eat much and the bones in the face aren't as sharp but to bring him in immediately if anything seems wrong. Sorry so long |

| Sorry that I don't know the answer to your questions. I do feel badly for your situation. Perhaps you can ask your vet or groomer for a shampoo/product used to remove skunkie smell. Would tomato juice work? You probably have to watch for drying skin as well if you shampoo too much. Good luck. |

| Jinx I will have to look into tomatoes juice perhaps it would be safe. I have no idea where he even got this fish head. We do live on the beach but my neighbors dog must have brought it on our porch because he never went down the steps. I brought him out to go potty now he has burs stuck on his face...mischevious lil guy I have I would like to wash him 100x but I know that's not good for him. That's why I'm looking for suggestions. He sure as he** isn't sleeping with me tonight! Poor guy in a few days I'm sure this will b funny. Thanks |

| Oh no! What a little trouble maker!! I am not sure what you could do for the smell. Maybe talk to a groomer about getting the smell out.

YT 2000 Club Member | I have heard lemon gets the fishy smell off your hands. Maybe it will work for your yorkie. I think they used lemon hand soap.....it would be drying, but a one time use might do the trick. My girls love to find dead baby bird, dead mice or anything stinky and roll in it! So it is just not a nasty boy thing!
