Yorkie Talker | Rescued yorkies I have 2 rescue yorkies Ozzy is around 6 the vet thinks. Izzy is 15 months old they were both under fed and infested with fleas Ozzy took several baths and eventually I had to shave him because he was so matted. My questions is about these tiny black spots on the bellies of Ozzy and Izzy it looks like dirt but doesn't was off and believe me I have tried. I also have a Chihuahua Prissy that's never been infested and she doesn't have any little dirt spots. I am thinking its from so many fleas when I first got them. they had a lot of flea crap all over them. No fleas since I first got rid of them I am very vigil about that. Does anyone have any clue what this is? It doesn't bother them just me I am kind of OCD about cleanliness. |

| I have never seen anything like that on my Yorkie, it looks like hair growing in or freckles.

| I know exactly what you are talking about, I had a Yorkie with those tiny spots on her belly. She had skin problems because of pollen allergies, and I always assumed that it was due to that, but didn't know for sure. Since yours were infested with fleas, perhaps they had a little flea allergy? Just a guess.

| Max's tummy looks like that all the time. Since we got him. 3 years now. It does not bother him that I can tell.

Yorkie Talker | Thanks, the skin allergy may be the culprit. I have noticed that they seem to get better with each weekly bath. I really may have irritated it because I thought it was dirt from them being so filthy when I go them and I took a rag at bath time and washed the hound out of them so to speak. They do love to play and explore when we go out and lay in the grass. I am sorry it took so long to get back but I have Comcast here in Ga and my internet has been horrible but today they have it up and running. |
