Tomorrow my dog Kiwi is getting spayed. She will be 7 months old. Next Thursday I am going to Florida for a week, just decided last night. I'm not sure whether I should still get her spayed tomorrow or not. Will she be ok by next Thursday? There will be cats for her to play with, all de-clawed. I don't know how many stiches she will have, she only weighs 5 lbs.
First time small dog owner.

Mine was spayed last month. She had 4 stitches, but she's really small- 2.8 lbs. at her last vet visit.

They aren't allowed to jump around and play for 14 to 21 days after the spaying- depends on when the vet removes her stitches. how the incision looks, and how she's feeling when she goes in for a follow up visit. She'll seem ok after a few days, but the vet told me to keep her still- no activity since she's still healing on the inside.

If you can keep her quiet and non active, I'd take her. If you don't think you can do that, reschedule the spay and take her unspayed!
