| The original Article is not by Dr. Becker, it's from Forbes magazine, and that is just silly snobbery, she is a wonderful vet, doing wonderful things for all animals, she just has views you don't agree with. Some others may be interested. |

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Well I am not a trained nutrionist, and I switched to raw food about 6 or more years ago. Because kibble was ruining my pups digestion. Liquid diarrehea on three or four different high quality kibble. With a big dog, that is a whole hell of a lot to clean up. And quite frankly I was very concerned. Year two I found a vet nutriontist but first year, I just researched on line. I feed a 40 40 20 diet. From the first week on, clear poops, no diarrehea. But week three was the watershed mark. No more diarrehea almost ever in 6+ years unless he gets into the garbage, and or, takes down the turkey on the counter He has white teeth, good breath, shiney coat, and quite frankly I don't need to worry about kibble recall. Due to our cross border travelling, I do let in some kibble, because I can't take raw dog food over the border, so until I get situated there is something they can eat. But now there is freeze dried raw, in pet food stores throughout most of the USA. I can google the city I am going to, and find out where I can buy it there. Now for show breeders who have bearded dogs, which I am sure they already know, but you can make little meatballs and hand feed them at meal times, so that meat doesn't get into the beard. But likely you will need to miniwash the beard/face, even if you wrap. I use a bacterial spray onto the beards after dinner even if hand feed. Then I brush out the big dogs beards. Takes about 5minutes per day if done daily. Usually by day three, I need to put them into the dog wash, for a more thorough wash of their head trimmings. And condition really really well the facial furnishing. I wash all my show dogs weekly and blow dry. Some would say this is too frequent, even my trainer says so. But hey every day, they are out and about, through rain, mud, grass, sand, lake water etc. I might go to 10days, but not much longer than that.

| Whoah, feather meal is disgusting! I've used it around the perimeter of my garden as a deer and elk repellent! It works well for that, but smells like the worst fart you ever smelled!!

| Agendas.....motivating factors.....different points of view.....just hate to see people panic without cause, based not on ANY RESULTS FROM FEEDING THIS FOOD, but just from her opinion.....which MAY be accurate or MAY be false conjecture. No snobbery....just trust scientific, evidence based results, rather than opinion. The proof is in the pudding, so to speak! |

| Worse than green tripe, which is a highly touted dog food additive, and that stuff would knock a buzzard of a gut cart!.....or even blood meal? |

| Lynzy - some would behead for feeding soy, so feather meal is a definite act of animal cruelty.

| And I could say the same for dairy, legumes, and grains, none of which I consume. GMOs include more than soy, just look at wheat, it's more of a franken food than soy.

Ahh yes, worms and feathers. Not digging the worm idea. Bugs are permitted in our food though. Paying scientists for ten years to develop this feather diet was likely far more expensive than just putting good quality jeat in the food. i don't think anybody including RC is telling owners of healthy pets to feed this. It fills a huge need for a very small number of dogs - dogs that cannot eat animal protein and do not do well on things like soy. It is for extreme allergies and intolerances - something that is understandably very hard to consider bc dgs are seen as meat eaters. Ellie does well on her soy pellets. uf she didn't we would absolutely consider this food if it was a bit lower in fat. And homecooking is a nice thought, but some can't even tolerate that. I could spend months looking for ingredients that cause Ellie no severe symptoms. Probem is...she would have severe symtoms in the process including life threateningones.
