| Pottying Problems- Is chloe marking? Well chloe will be a year old next month. She is potty trained except she pees on Penny's(my boxer) bed . I swear I wash it every day and chloe will pee on it. Penny sleeps on our couch at night (which fortunately chloe does NOT ever pee on that) but if we are sitting on it, then I either have a bed that I made for penny that I keep on the ground or if thats in the wash, I will lay down blankets for her to sleep on. And she has to have some sort of bed because I have tile in my living room and so thats not very soft to lay on. Either way CHloe will pee on whatever penny tries to sleep on. I dont care if I just took chloe out she will still do a littel pee spot. She also does this to my bathroom rug. Is chloe marking? Its the only thing I can think of. I dont want to make her wear diapers 24/7 so what do I do? My poor boxer can never have a nice bed because of chloe.

| Awww poor pretty little Penny. Is Chloe spayed? I didn't think females marked but I could be wrong. PS - I think Penny is sooooo precious! She's one of the most beautiful Boxers I've even seen!

Donating YT 14K Club Member | I've known a female that marked...like all over my house! She belonged to a friend and they came by for a visit. It could be that Chloe is trying to tell Penny who's boss. Poor Penny!

I didnt think females marked either but it has to be what she is doing. She knows better than to potty in the house but she still will pee in pennys bed no matter where I put it too(I move its locations to several different spots). I want to get penny a big comfy dog bed but they are really expensive since I would have to get a really large bed and its just going to suck if ihave to attempt to wash it every other day. Ive made penny a few beds and after about 20 washes I just have to throw them away . I havent had chloe spayed yet though(Im as scared to death but plan on having her spayed soon). Will this help keep her from doing that?

I'm not an expert on the subject but (from what I understand and from what I've read and researched, spaying (and of course neutering the males) does drastically decrease the dogs marking and spraying stuff. My boy Codie has NEVER marked in my house -- ever! Codie only marked 1 thing before and that was ME! We were at a park having a picnic and some lady came over with her cute little male Bichon. Well the Bichon was all over me and kissing me to death. So Codie came over in the middle of all this and lightly SPRAYED/peed on ME! But other then that time, Codie has never marked -- and NEVER in the house!

| Sometimes I wonder this same thing bc everyday when I go to put new pottypads down in the house Chloe will run to every one of them and squat and get a little bit of pee on each pad as if she is telling Daisy not to use them for a potty.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | I don't know Chloe reasoning for pottying on the bed, but you may be in for a battle as far as getting her to stop it. I had a female dog before that never pottied in the house EXCEPT on a throw rug I had in front of the kitchen sink. I washed that a million times w/ bleach for added pee pee smell removal....did it work? Nope. Threw the rug away, bought another.....yep, she peed on it, finally decided that I didn't NEED a kitchen rug

| I know what you mean. I used to have throw rugs also, but not anymore. I think they think it must be their potty pad or something. They pee on the bathroom rugs I am always washing them. I decided I better just keep the bathroom doors shut. You gotta love those little turkey butts though!!!!!!!!!!!

| I think Chloe is just trying to show Penny that she is the boss! My silky is spayed but SHE still MARK! Thankfully, she only marked when we are out, never at home. You might have to catch Chloe in action and give her a stern 'NO'. She is just being naughty and stubborn like my Junior. No matter how stern we were to him, he just pees and poos around the house or just next to the newspaper!! |

| I think Roxy is doing the same thing. She is just over 1 year old and she is litter boxed trained with pee pads. I never have to worry about her b/c she always uses the boxes...but about 2 months ago, I noticed little pee spots on the bathroom throw, everyday!!! I was so fustrated, I thought it was TJ. Then I noticed, again everyday, the the throw rug in my bedroom would have a little pee spot (in the same area). Again, I thought it was TJ and I was getting even more frustrated, b/c this was everyday!!! Then, one day about 3 weeks ago, I walked into my bedroom and turned on the light and there was Roxy, peeing on my rug! So it has been her all this time! WHY????? She has pretty much stopped peeing on the bathroom throw (she did 1x this week) but she is still doing a little pee on my bedroom throw. AND...this morning she did it 2x. I cleaned up the first time she peed and then went to get ready for work and I came back into the bedroom and she did it again! WHY is she doing this???? |

| I have posted before about Midori, my fav mom, who was such an alpha female that she recognized NO ONE except me as her pack leader. She would even aim at my hubby's foot. She would go on the deck to potty with all the others and would mark over every single pee and poo before she would come back in. I have seen her hike her leg and pee 4 inches up on the patio table leg. I read many years ago a theory that females who are sorta sandwiched between males in the uterus will absorb testerone from the males and start life as an alpha. Wonder if that is true?? |

| It definetly sounds like Chloe is marking... Esme marks her territory and she is spayed... She never has accidents at home BUT, when I take her to my moms house where their are two other dogs, she leaves little drops here and there. It's very irritating! Also, when we go to the dog park she marks like CRAZY. Also, she marks along the fence of our backyard. I know she's doing it because she squats and walks at the same time... I don't know how you could get her to stop though! Good luck!
