| Welcome Helen! I would recommend two great books that you can refer to forever! Yorkies For Dummies and Yorkshire Terriers: A Smart Owners Guide are the two books that I recommend to my new owners, especially the first one! Covers most questions you can think of and a really great guide! Congratulations on your new family member.....years of great times and memories will follow! |

| Big thank you and a question Thank you to everyone who took the time to read my post, we have always had big dogs in the past, ieit bulls, dobermans, collies ect but when we decided to get new dog i wanted little one as i knew it would be left to me to walk feed ect, when i seen pic of yorkie pups my heart just melted and when i went to buy one it was benj that picked me he was the puppy that jumped on my leg and showed interest in me so that is how i picked him (dont know if thats the way to do it) he is adorable so lovely but overprotective noone can come and sit beside me without him barking and growling and lashing out which i dont like but dont know how to stop him i do tell him firmly no and he does go away to his bed but does it again five minutes later and can i just say your dogs are gorgeous xxx

| There are trainers on here that can help you deal with that behavior...I am not a trainer, so I am useless there! |

| Hi, I agree to work with a trainer who specializes in behavior. Also there is a great youtube video of Cesar Milan dealing with exactly that issue with a mother and daughter and their Yorkie that would at least make you laugh while your going through it. When you learn the right tools it will change everything. Did you get this Yorkie when he was a year old or as a baby? Good luck!!! |
