Great choice, that is the one I was going to recommend to you. This is the one Peanut is on, and he loves it!! Before it would take him a couple days to eat ¼ of a cup. Now he licks his bowl clean! The good thing about the Open Sky is it doesn't have peas or flax seed. If you do start her on it, make sure she is on it for at least a couple months. It took Peanut’s system about 4/5 months to get the Acana out. I can’t wait for the Buffalo to come out, I really want to try that on Peanut.

In the meantime, you can go to Petco and buy this shampoo. I found it really helped Peanut when he was at his worse. It is also cooling to them. Maybe you can even just wash her paws when you see her biting/ licking. You can also give her OTC Benadryl. My Vet recommended Wal-Finate. It is OTC allergy pills. Peanut is 4 pounds and he gets ½ a pill. They work really well.

However like I said you can always make a vet apt and have the Vet see her, Peanut was getting so bad where the OTC didn't work. He gave Peanut an RX for the dog Benadryl ( can’t think of the name, when I get off I will tell you, maybe you can ask your vet for the same) Those pills were stronger and worked really well.

That dog food advisor site is really good. I use Blue Buffalo and am pretty happy with that. I would not give Beneful, Kibbles and Bits or any of that store brand dog food. Do some research, find out what is in the food and try to choose a high quality food. It will make a difference in the dog.

Fresh Pet Made her very very sick!!!!
I was feeding her the kibble and I opened a bag and it was moldy all inside. My husband had just bought it that day. The Date on it was fine too.
I called the company and they gave me a couhpon for the roll so I thought I would give it a try.The company assured me that it was very rare and they not had any problems previous to this incident. I trusted them

I only gave her a tsp of it and she was in agony with bloat and severe gas. Pixie was restless moaning and crying in pain. I had to watch my dog suffer in severe pain bc I trusted a company that was no good in my opinion. It was the most horrible thing to watch Pixie with a bloated stomach, hard as a rock moaning and crying in agony. I really thought her stomach was going to rupture it got so huge so fast.

We had to take her to the emergency vet at 10 pm at night 1 hr away. By the time we got to the vet she was throwing up.....I would not ever recommend fresh pet!!!

I am thankful I had my glasses on when I was feeding them bc I might not of noticed the mold

But keep in mind the person who does the site is NOT a vet nutritionist and its always best to look up the company if they are a 5 star food or not some company's are not good.

Omg!! Wow, that mold is hard to see- how crazy, glad everything worked out.

I'd like to go back to the grass/outside possible allergies. Yes, I definitely agree that you should switch to grain free and see if that helps. But, my boy, Shelby has started licking more and more over the past year. This coincided with us moving into our house, where he suddenly got to spend a lot more time in the yard.

He hasn't been diagnosed but I think he almost certainly has some sort of allergy and my bet is the denominator that changed = being outside more. Anyway, I've recently started giving him benedryl to help and his licking has subsided some..not all the way but a lot.

He has a vet check up next week so I'm going to talk to the vet about it. My suggestion to you is to do the same - talk to your vet. It could be something else, but allergies are for sure the biggest probability here.

If her licking started when the food change happened, I would definitely start there. As someone else said, pay attention to when she is licking the most ok? When it started? What else is going on or changed? And, after all that...talk to your vet

I was feeding Cece Fresh Pet because at the time it was the only thing she would eat. Then one day when I was heating it up (it's cold) I noticed it sparked. Like you would see if you put metal in the microwave. So after that I started paying attention and it sparked almost every time I heated it up. I was only putting it on 6 seconds to take the chill off. Needless to say I stopped feeding it to her.
