YT 500 Club Member | Fatten Up I really feel I need to fatten up my little girl. She just seems so skinny to me. She just turned 7 mo. and I can feel her ribs and her backbone when I pet her. The vet hasn't said anything about it but I would feel better if she gain some weight prior to her spay. What would you suggest I add to her regular food?

| What are you feeding her now? How much does she weigh? Is she a picky eater? Some dogs are just naturally lean and they do fatten up after they mature.

YT 500 Club Member | Honey is 1 and she is 3.7 pounds the way that your little girl is, is the same way that Honey is. I have been trying to put weight on her but its not working at all. She just got spayed and did really well. |

| It sounds like she is eating good. She is just a small girl. If she is really active then she might just be burning a lot of calories. I am sure there are some healthy snacks you might add to her diet so hopefully someone will have some ideas. Lol, I have the opposite problem with some of mine, they are little fatties.

YT 2000 Club Member | Teeka was the same way at that age. After I had her spayed she gained a 1/2 pound in 1 month and her wait was exactly 4 lbs. She is now 11 months and she lost most of that weight and is down to 3.8 pounds. I think it is because we are outside and she does alot of running & exploring, burning calories! If she has a small bone structure, she might fill out some after her spay but then she might run it off! Talk to your vet to see what he says.
