One of the ads says the mother is MERLE.

MERLE is one of a BLUE gene.......... All kinds of issues with that in itself, not to mention the dogs being ugly.

And forgive me if my math is off but the ad states:

Male puppy 8 weeks on 8/ 16/13. Mother is Merle crested x 8 pounds. Father is hairless yorkie x 2 pounds. 4th generation hairless yorkie non-shedding no grooming. Will stay small. Email for more pictures 860-899-9919 Terryville ct

Ummmm, 8 weeks on 8/16 means the puppy isn't even born yet.....8 weeks back from 8/16 is 6/21.

What a pity, Why would some one do this, Poor dog,s will not be allowed out in the sun very long as the sun will burn them. I hope who ever buy's one know,s how to care for a hair less dog. poor puppies.

I don't mind mix breeds either. Growing up we always has stray dogs and I loved them to death. Our first purebreds were the dobbies and they where the most precious and loving dogs. Now I have a morkie and a yorkie and I love both the same.

If the pups are healthy, looks happy and can live a normal live. They are welcome in my home.
This pups don't look nor healthy nor happy. Not even the dad looks good.
They won't be able to be outside for a long time without extra protection.

That is what makes me disgusted about this mix.

Horrible! There is a reason the chinese crested always wins the ugly dog contest every year. I remember Iin another thread, pstinard said that the short hair gene is always dominant. I wonder if the hairless gene is the same way? If so, a huge number of hugely defective dogs could be created very quickly, as opposed to the careful breeding that it takes to better the breed. Scary thought...

Hi, in most instances (like the Chinese Crested), the hairless gene is dominant. There is one breed of dog with a recessive hairless gene, but I suspect that the hairless dogs in this ad are due to the dominant gene. The dogs with the dominant hairless genes tend to have health problems, and the dominant gene is homozygous lethal in the womb, so those dogs never even get born . Thanks. So, as suspected, breeding a hairless Chinese crested with a yorkie, especially a blue born yorkie, is asking for a world of trouble. I truly feel sorry for these poor pups who did not ask to be born with every health problem that 2 unhealthy dogs can create and the pain and suffering they will have to endure. It breaks my heart!
