| ![]() I would not clone. A copy of the original is not the original.

Also did you notice the company doing the cloning is in Korea? Can't help but think of the Korean puppymills, dog farms, etc that go on there. Perhaps their laws about animals there aren't like here? Not that our animal protection laws are all that strict, but just saying.

| ![]() Are any of you familiar with the anime Full Metal Alchemist? This really reminds me of it but in real life. Two brothers lose their mother, and try to bring her back to life with alchemy. In the process the younger brother loses his body (but not his soul) and the older brother loses his arm. The mother was brought back momentarily but was not "their" mother, just sorta resembled her, in a meltingly zombie-ish way. I know just a cartoon, but this anime was deep. The underlying tone of the show was you cannot get or gain anything without taking it from someone else. In this case, [supposed] good homes could be adopting/rescuing pets in need facing death row, instead they spend tens of thousands to clone (resurrect?) their pet, now no longer having the space in their home to save another pet. And all that money spent could have been used for good. Instead they had to be selfish and greedy and try to bring back the dead, which is not going to be the same as their passed pet, bc they are only similar in looks! Even twins who have the same DNA, not only do they act and have completely different personalities, they are not 100% identical! Puppies from the same litter can have huge differences in looks. Aren't pups in the same litter have the exact same DNA?

| ![]() Addresing the science side of this discussion: identicals are not exactly identical, due in part to a process referred to as gene expression. Regardless of environment-organism interaction, an organism cannot be "exactly" duplicated. So if you were to be cloned, your copy would not be an exact duplicate of you. |
